3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW F30 3-Series LCI [2015-2019]

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. For the sixth generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate.

65000 kms of solid business use (that's about what @Mick Briesgau does in a month ;) ) and still as fresh as a daisy. A complete and satisfying ownership experience.

Soon it'll be time to say goodbye to the F30 but it's nice to see how its design has stood up well over time.

What’s in mind for replacement? New 3er will only arrive next year..

Reading this gives me a feeling of quiet satisfaction, as I'll be picking up my new 318i F30 in about six weeks. Alpine White too. I expect to do a similar amount of kms in it too.

What are you replacing it with?

Fantastic! IMO, this STILL looks refreshingly brilliant. Which should come as no surprise seeing as the LCI is so well proportioned. Those rims are killer brah :eusa_clap

:D Thanks. There's a small story to those rims... the dealer sourced this vehicle ex-factory pretty much matching every specification I wanted - particularly Sport line with sport-auto Steptronic - except that the rims fitted as standard were the 19 inchers you see here. I had reservations about the ride quality and arranged that when the vehicle was PDI'd that they'd change them to 18" wheels. When I saw the car prior to taking delivery, I just couldn't say no to those darn wheels.

My misgivings around the ride quality weren't entirely unfounded - there's no question that high-frequency bumps and scars are felt more acutely than they'd be on the 18" rims. Thankfully, the suspension is standard and not M-Sport so the overall ride is pliant enough over Joburg's worst tarmac.

For me, the F30 is the best looking 4-door BMW. I personally find the G30 (5er) to be such a boring design, inside and out, not their best effort, too similar to the F10. Somehow the F30 looks as nice as when it was released. Certainly the interior has dated but outside you wouldn't say it is about to be replaced. Your car looks great Martin.

Would not trade my F30 330i M Sport for the new G20 330i M Sport at all. Something about the F30 M Sport's design is so beguiling and timeless.

I've looked at the G20 finance deals and the numbers of horrible. Very expensive as BMW UK are forecasting steep depreciation which results in high monthly figures.

That too.

I was, however, hinting at the design of the F30 M Sport. Beautifully crafted. Nice angles. Timeless design.

After its lifecycle was done, the F30 is still a handsome car. The only weakness to my eyes is the rear...too generic BMW.

Regarding the rear, I actually like the solid look on the F30. Felt the G20's rear to be a bit tall due to the curvature found at the top of the boot.

Waiting for the H10 (if that's what they call the next iteration).

It's quite interesting that while I enjoy seeing the G20 on the roads and go "nice car" I don't feel any pangs of envy or FOMO. It'll happen when it happens but right now I'm quite happy with what I have and how it drives - at testament to how complete the F30 LCI is. I still love it.
