X5 [Official] BMW X5 (G05)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

I don't understand these black-plastic connector pieces.. they look so cheap! First the E-Class with the black-grille surround and now the BMW X5/6 LCI and 5er with the black plastic connecting the kidneys to the lower grilles.. Audi and Lexus were ahead of their time with having full unit grille pieces.. why does BMW and Merc both need to dilute their grille-designs by "hiding" with black plastic?

Like.. having a full vertical kidney on the G80 M3 is one thing.. it's still a kidney.. what is the need for that black piece in the bumpers to now hide the shape of the kidneys especially on the X5/6M? Makes the whole shape look like Lexus's "Spindle"

The Pre-LCI X5 is still the best looking midsize luxe SUV in the segment for me(alongside the equally gorgeous E70 X5), followed by the Genesis GV80. I love the large-chunky headlights on the pre-LCI a lot more than the slim ones on the LCI.

Just look at all the shit going on inside that unit!
And not to mention the eyebrows! The 2001 BMW 7er had eyebrows already, man. Truly time to stop that thing.
They actually had an eyebrow all the way back to the E30, where the top of the grill cuts off the top of the headlight. Wish they would have kept it, it gives the car a focused look.

Yeah, that is a completely different eyebrow, and definitely not the one I mean. The ones I mean are integrated into the unit itself, nothing at all even remotely like an E30.

That was very clear to everyone, I was just pointing out a different interpretation. They both accomplish similar things, gives it a slightly aggressive look.

I don't think the result is similar when the eyebrow is part of the headlight. In the E30 case, the eyebrow is slightly over the actual headlight which gives that agressive look, whereas the E65 looks more surprised than anything remotely agressive.

But thanks for pointing out the connection, it never occured to me to be honest.

I also prefer the front of the E32 and the E30, that is not why I would repeat them in all the successors, the one of the E65 is one of the most and best worked fronts of all the 7 existing series, although we may like it or not

Handsome but since my eyes have grown accustomed to the XM and new 5 series, Mini's new infotainment and dee concept, this X5 LCI looks a bit previous gen.

That, a beautiful representative, but I see it as an intermediate step, since its surfaces are in transition mode, much more modern, clean and pleasant than those of the X3, which I see as totally last generation compared to the new ones, but the X5 crosses the time more gracefully towards for example the XM style
huh
