Levante [Official] Maserati Levante

The Maserati Levante (Tipo M161) is an executive crossover SUV produced by Maserati at the Mirafiori factory in Turin from 2016. The Levante went on sale in Europe in May 2016, and in North America in September 2016. The Levante was named after a warm, easterly wind that blows in the western Mediterranean Sea, southern France, down to the Strait of Gibraltar.

I really like it and would consider one if were in the market for this or a Cayenne or X6.

they will sell, they will sell be sure, and not only from this side of the Alps..:)
I have to say much better in these pics than the one I have seen in Geneve (I didn't like that one to be sincere)

Come'n Scott..this is another commonplace against Italians.I think there are many Germans doing the same as Italians wearing some sandals and white socks , driving a Cayenne and complaining about their Frankfurter (würstel) in front of big beer..don't you think?..So? where is the point?(y)
Ah yes, "pasta" is much better than a würstel I agree with you:D

I have a few italians in the family (aunt and wife's cousins are married with italians and live in Italy) and if anyone can don yellow shoes, gold Rolex and a fur coat, and still rock it, it would be an italian. It's marvelous to watch when the families meet up in Sweden. White socks and sandals? No one can wear that and make it work...

I am also starting to like this SUV alot, its styling is refreshing and I like the aggressive looking front grill and lights. The driving reviews sound really positive about how it drives, with superb handling. I wonder if the handling is at least as good as the Porsche Cayenne.

You're kidding me right? I think there's plenty of demand in Europe for a non-German full sized SUV - especially if it has Maserati's throaty exhaust note.

It won't be a top seller but won't be a flop either. For wider success Maserati needs to extend their dealer network and get greater volumes of people into their showrooms.

It won't sell well in Europe at all. Maybe in the U.S, not Europe.

I'm agreed with you. Certainly, there's demand in Europe for a non-German full sized SUV, but Germans have one level of quality and technology that Maserati hasn't enough to compete with germans. And the reliability is other thing that germans have known to do very good and Maserati not. Maybe, the design is more elegant in Maserati that in germans, but this is a personal view.

The italian market is very special, as the french market. They prefer "theirs cars" and this can be seen in the official cars for ministers of goverments. They don't use german cars. So, in the italian market Levante will be the star. In Germany or Spain, not. In Spain, per each 100 cars from germans car producers, one person can see one Maserati.

Maserati has announced the Levante will be priced from $72,000 when the model goes on sale in the United States this summer.

Set to be shown at the New York Auto Show, the Levante costs $13,700 more than the Porsche Cayenne but comes nicely equipped with leather upholstery, a dual-zone climate control system, and an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display. Drivers will also find a power adjustable steering wheel, auto-dimming mirrors, and an 8-speaker audio system. Other highlights include rain-sensing wipers, a power liftgate, and rear privacy glass.

An assortment of options will be available including a panoramic glass sunroof, a Luxury package, and a Zegna Edition package which adds premium leather and silk upholstery.

The entry-level Levante is powered by a biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 345 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 156 mph.

Moving up to the $83,000 Levante S rewards buyers with an upgraded biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 424 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the model runs from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and tops out at 164 mph.

Both engines are connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which is paired to a standard all-wheel-drive system.

While deliveries aren't slated until this summer, Maserati will begin accepting orders next month.

Note: Pricing excludes destination and handling fees
