They bring the V8 back, it will fly off the shelves.
Would I be interested in a 250.000 Euro C class? Yes or no.....
Anyone here who is seriously contemplating a V8 in the C class is just not rooted in reality. Not at all.

I would think so but I’m not sure. Yep I agree they should be working all out to fix at facelift time.Yes. And if they're smart they'll fettle with the facelift engine bay to allow that extra 50mm for the M256M.
Anyway, isn't the M256 much shorter than other inline 6es due to the ISG?
All of the excuses just seem like belligerence in the face of a mistake.
Right.Who says everything has to be developed again? 50MM is not much space, on top of that parts are already developed for the M256 in the CLE53.
What E63?I would leave the V8 out of the W206. You've 4-Matic plus and an electric rear diff, the E63 would have its toes stepped on for sure.
The C63 being a mini E63 is just fine.I would leave the V8 out of the W206. You've 4-Matic plus and an electric rear diff, the E63 would have its toes stepped on for sure.
There is a reason the competition isn`t going with V8s for the lower sister performance models with AWD. A 6-cylinder would be the best option for the C63s. The physics of a V6 has a shorter deck than an I6, The previous M275 V6 shown here from the first C43 has a very short deck and just from the looks of it, could easily fit in the W206. The problem is neither the M275 V6 nor the M256 I6 are hand-built AMG engines.
MB AMG could have invested in cutting the 2-pistons off the M177 V8 on a hand-built hi-performance
Twin-Turbo V6. (Dodge just developed a twin-turbo I6 Hurricane for its upcoming models, MB could have done the same. )

In an ideal world though, they really should be making an AMG-specific M256 variant to battle with the likes of the S58 from BMW, but I don't think they will. At least not for now. the M256M exists and is already putting out 450 horsepower in the CLE53, they can probably modify the engine bay of the W206 a little bit and stuff it in there, and tune it up to 550 horsepower no problem. Would need to up the torque figure a lot though. Its not outside of the realm of possibility for AMG, the question is simply _if_ they will.
The base is there from the M256, and imo an i6 is smoother than a V6.^Either case I agree. I mean if you wanted to keep the V8 in the C it looks like there is room for it.
As I said, just looking at the engine bay of the W206, it looks like it has just slightly more room under the hood than the W205.
Starting from scratch would be even more expensive to develop for a stand-alone engine I6.
The ingredients for a bi-turbo V6 from the M177 is already there with some geek-tweaking. The piston and block pressure levels of the hand-built AMG engines are enormous.
I ask the same question, how does Belgium calculate fleet averages?!?
YupWhat does Belgium have to do with anything? Do you mean the EU?
Tuners can do crazy shit.AMG just don't have the kahunas to make another V8 C-class.
So many tuners can do it and even put a V12 in a 190E body.
