Quite a good review and that car looks gorgeous. The S63 sounds delicious, that V8 has got to be one of the best sounding engines on any luxury car.

Wow the rate at which that car hits its 297km/h indicated limiter is staggering. It looks like unrestricted this car could probably easily go 320 to 340km/h.

I miss the S600.

The S600 was the sweet spot of the S-class range, because it only shared its V12 with the upper crust of the Mercedes range such as the SL, CL and Maybach. I wish they had made a CLS 600 as well. That would have been sweet.

The S600 was expensive, but it was bespoke as it didn't share its engine with lesser models like the E and C-class. If I'm buying an S-class I want to have an engine that's exclusive to it, otherwise, I may as well save money and buy an E-class.

Off-topic: I'm sad to know about the demise of the CLS. Replaced by the hideous and pointless EQE. Mercedes' electric odyssey is a mess. The cars are ugly, expensive and as result nobody buy them.

The EQE didn’t replace the CLS. The CLS died because put a much more desirable car in its market segment, the AMG 4-Door. Same engines, vastly better driving experience and now virtually the same pricing. AMG branding wins.

No one bought the S600 and imo if the engine is the only difference between and E and a S then buy a C and save even more money. The E and S have shared engines since forever.

Ensuring that the front fender crests are kept low and the the downwards slope of the hoods frontal section is maintained, M-B designers could be praised for integrating the enlarged grill quite competently. Pulling the grill deeper into the front apron helps as well.

What an idiot! He’s high beam signaling several times (12 min 6 seconds for instance). First of all, that’s most irritating. Second a high beam signal means for truck drivers, that they get an OK to overtake.
Saying he’s not really an experienced Autobahn driver is an euphemism.
