"2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo S Hits 150 MPH a Full Second Quicker
What’s going on? It’s down to a very turbo-sounding word: boost. Or, more specifically, overboost. (...) When the Taycan Turbo S was first rolled out, the conservative answer was three seconds. In later iterations, overboost was allowed to persist for a full 10 seconds. Porsche made this change after understanding in-use customer behavior of their first EV in more detail and also after the ongoing testing that Porsche has always done to constantly improve their products. The effect of 10 seconds of overboost versus three seconds is exactly what our two test results have quantified."![]()
Of course, but the article makes it clear that this improved performance can be traced back to a software update in 2021:The Lucid Air Sapphire smashed it by around four seconds. Just saying.

He likely got the car on a cheap business lease. Because it’s an EV, there are tax benefits to buying this car including grants/tax breaks for installing a charger at the HQ,He's always getting a new car. I'm f#cking sick of it! Review a bloody Peugeot 205 GTI instead or stuff!![]()
Curious. Are you saying that the EV loving folks in the Netherlands have gone back to the ICE 911? Or are you saying that the Lucid Airs are flying off the shelves in the Netherlands and Tesla Model S Plaid can be found at every corner because of their drag race performance (0 to 150 mph being most important) is the qualifying criteria for the majority of EV buyers in the Netherlands in that segment?Germany in shambles.
I personally think it's extreme how much quicker and simply better these U.S EVs are.
Taycan is absolutely dead in this EV loving country too. They are hardly around at all. Some when the car was new and fresh, but it looks like everyone went back to a 911.

Remarkable...
"Porsche has a new ultra high-performance Taycan on the way, and it just set a record around the Nurburgring. Giddy with excitement, the Stuttgart automaker hasn't even confirmed what the car is called or detailed any of its performance metrics. It has just told us the time. A 'pre-series Taycan' lapped the ring in just 7:07.55. This makes it the fastest electric Porsche to ever turn a wheel in anger around the legendary track."

And in the private market, noone wants an EV either for obvious reasons.
Taycan sales have increased each year in the Netherlands since its introduction.
2020 - 436
2021 - 631
2022 - 720
2023 - 764 (projected)
911 sales
2020 - 397
2021 - 407
2022 - 433
2023 - 613 (projected)
My work car park is full of EVs, every single one of which is privately owned. I am one myself.
A Russian website from China...... why do I doubt these numbers and why aren't they the same as, let's say, Autoweek.NL?

But you're right by pointing out my wild claim; Tacan still sold 10 times more than a BMW 7er. If Tacan is dead, a 7er is like a fossil.
Absolutely insane. Only 2 seconds off a Rimac Nevera. Everytime i think we’re approaching the limits of what these cars can do, every record gets shattered by a comprehensive margin. Kudos to Porsche for regaining the title so comprehensively. Not the full lap, but some snippets -
It is hauling ass.
And to think, not so long ago, many here thought EVs were only for good for straight line and not at the track.Absolutely insane. Only 2 seconds off a Rimac Nevera.
