How many reasons remain for a customer in this price segment to buy another car? Maybe lacking recharging infrastructure in some places, but this has nothing to do with the car itself.

This put to shame the current German offerings in the segment. It makes the 5er, A6 and E-Class look 10 years old.

We could ask the US military about it too:

Navy ditches touchscreens for knobs and dials after fatal crash – TechCrunch

When I saw that couple of weeks ago, I wondered how long before someone posts that here after just reading the click bait headlines and not the whole thing. There is really no parallel here. Navy was using touch screen for throttle controls and now is going back to physical throttles. None of these cars use touchscreen for throttle or brakes, neither did anyone advocate it, so there is really no parallel here.

And before the plot is lost, my snarikenss is not about touchscreens being safe or not (that is a complicated debate), but the silence from the usual suspects who slammed Tesla for the same approach. Why are they not here decrying Porsche? Is what is bad for the goose, not bad for the gander?

Taycan will be a game changer for Porsche and for the whole industry. It isn't very often, when a milestone is created.

Perhaps, but knobs and dials are preferable to touchscreen for frequently used functions that require no thinking (intuitive).

Man what the hell it is more than i ever imagined it would be.. just take my damn money now!

Can someone explain what the hell that circular thing is between the center screen and the cup holder close to where it says taycan?
Looks like one of those handles to pull out a test tube from a liquid nitrogen fridge.. lol

I think that's a popout ashtray, some idiots still smoke. There's two cupholders one has an insert in it, one of the options for my last MINI was a smokers pack, it included an ashtray which fitted into a cup holder.

How so? It's a premium vehicle, game changers are never premium vehicles, the real game changer for the motor vehicle will be the VW ID range, the numbers they indend to build are staggering, it will bring practical electric motoring to more people than any other BEV to date.

Hmmm so Porsche has come up with an amazing interior and a pretty boring exterior, Audi's version has a killer exterior but will they be able to match this interior??

It can be applied to other stuff we use in the car as well. This looks cooler than an interior full of physical buttons, but it is by no means more intuitive or safer to use. My daily drive has a touch screen for the nav, radio, etc. and I have to put way more attention when introducing an address compared to the same procedure using the iDrive of the 5 Series in my family.

So IMO, while this might have the style and fit&finish the Teslas lack, it will most likely share most of the same issues.

Well, Audi is just using what Porsche has created, so the merit there is quite less.

Have you seen the final car ?

Because premium vehicles put the standards and lead the industry ahead. After the Taycan all major manufacturers will have to take the same route if they want to stay competitive.
As for the exterior, you will be surprised how close to the Mission E this car will be. Just wait 04.09

Man I can not wait for the configurator to go live.. the options and combos seem to be insane. Im really interested in that OLeA tanned club leather and also the race Tex material..
And just the sound of these interior colors makes my mouth water:

Interior colors Black-Lime Beige, Blackberry, Atacama Beige and Meranti Brown are exclusively available for the Taycan. The optional interior accent package also gives customers a choice of special contrasting color schemes in black matt, dark silver or neodyme, an elegant champagne tone. The doors and center consoles can be wood trim, matte carbon, embossed aluminum or fabric.

I will get robbed later this year, that is for sure!

It looks ok, but not expensive. That central lower screen looks simple.

Panamera's interior is better imho.

Have you seen the final car ?

No, but when you compare the Mission E prototype to the Audi E-tron GT prototype the GT is the much better looking car. I think Audi will built a car more like there prototype version then Porshe to the Mission E.

I wouldn't be surprised if Audi engineers had a pretty significant hand in creating this car, I doubt it's all Porsche engineering an nothing else.

No they don't, think about all the motorvehciles which have made the most impact on the world around us, Model T, Beetle, MINI, 2CV, Renault 4, Golf, Corrolla, F150, Jeep, none of those were premium vehciles.

S class is also one of those impactful vehicles.. how do you explain that?
Or maybe a 911..

I can't think of any vehicle thats been influenced influenced by the 911, how many other manufaturers have gone down the rear engined flat 6 rabbit hole?? I'll give you the S up to the W126 model.

And BMW 3er also. The VW Beatle put Germany and most of the world on wheels but its formula was created by Tatra and not by Ferdinand Porsche who copied it.
