It’s more or less similar to the other recent render of the 7/i7. Taking its appearance from the LCI iX which is what we are probably going to receive.

The 7er is a regular classical well proportioned sedan.

Try again harder next time.

There is nothing classic BMW saloon in its proportions. The front overhang is huge and so is the hood height, not sleek like other saloons. From the rear it looks good but from the A-pillar forwards is where the awkwardness in its design starts. It's like the front and rear were designed by a different design team and just plastered together. In a way its the same with the 5 series, the rear looks good but the front is really ugly. Both have presence but unfortunately both are ugly.

I think Klier is referring to The i7 G70 brings back the classic upright limousine look from the E23,E32 and E38 7er. When the E65 begun the more rounded sportier coupe roofline seen with the F01 and G11.

Comparing a G70 to E38 is hilarious. Rooflines not saving this thing.

Wonder WTF you would call the side profile of this car though. Very curious to hear what's not classical about it.

Make an outline, put it on a blank sheet of paper and tell me with a straight face it's not a classic well proportioned sedan.

Reduce the vertical mass of the lower 2/3's of the silhouette a bit while raising the wheelarch openings + adding a bit more subtle sculpturing to the surrounding sheetmetal, soften + lower the roofline a smidgen, add a pinch of rake to the A-and C-pillars and trim about 200mm from the overall length and this would be an absolutely killer design for a luxury sedan.

Well...the sculpturing and surfacing of the sheetmetal from the sills of the glasshouse downwards is superb IMHO. So...that particular element can be retained for the very most part.

It gets the panoramic iDrive X as seen on the Neue-Klasse.
