3 Series (G20) [Spy Shots] BMW G20 3er LCI / G28 i3

The seventh generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G20 (sedan version) and BMW G21 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. The G20/G21 has been in production since mid-October 2018 with a facelift in July 2022 and is often collectively referred to as the G20.

The front bumper intake design looks nice a much needed improvement on the current 3 especially the base and Luxury line with their weird triangular shaped intakes. The i3 is a much better looking BEV than the i4.

Good eye @leylandi
It appears to be identical except the width below the doors?

I can't help but think that naming this the i3 is a mistake.

i3 was the only option. Calling the current i3 i3 was the mistake. '3' belongs to the 3er.

How can you possibly think calling this the i3 is a mistake when we are going to get an i5 based on 5er and i7 based on 7er?

The side windows of the electric model are smaller. the body is raised to make room for the batteries in the base.

The side windows are "smaller" (meaning "shallower", I presume) ??

I do get the impression of that being indeed so-but is that really true ?

You will still have the i3 running alongside this i3. Which would be confusing especially if the customer gets excited and thinks the new i3 is another mega city vehicle to replace their own?

I doubt the classic i3 is still being exported to China. It will be sold in Europe and N. America and the new i3 based on the LWB 3 only in China. I can't see any possible confusion.

Yes it is optical illusion, but due to longer wheelbase.
btw. Nobody saw this?;)

That "air-breather" looks relatively well-integrated. There are examples of the integration not being as elegant (Audi e Tron GT, for example. I wish it had no vent at all.).
