5 Series (G60/G61/G68) [Spy Shots] BMW G60 5 Series LCI

The BMW G60/G61/G68 is the eighth generation of the 5 Series. Revealed on May 24, 2023, it commenced production in the summer of 2023 at BMW's Dingolfing Plant, with first deliveries beginning around October 2023. Body styles included: 4-door sedan/saloon (G60), 5-door wagon/estate (G61), and 4-door long-wheelbase saloon (G68).
Incorrect. The prototypes you see are old. Things changed
"As R&D times are being significantly slashed and manufacturing processes more automated hence streamlined, it would be conceivable that model cycles will be considerably shortened. Theoretically, applicable for the G60/61 as well."

Kindly comment briefly: Accurate or not ?

Thank you

That goes on to show that initial rumors about a total rethinking of the G6x/G9x LCI was quite right, as reported by BMWBLOG. So yes, BMWBLOG was right.

As the design was altered, no more initial NK-inspired prototypes were caught on streets, so this pause spoke for itself. Probably, the pre-series vehicles with the new styling will hit streets soon.

How so? This looks quite NK-ish.

The kidneys don’t - they are clearly a reinterpretatiom of the current design, but nothing close to NK like they will launch on the G50, for example. Plus the camo can be deceiving.

It couldn't look more like an NK car for a facelift of an existing non-NK CLAR car. So I very much disagree.
And to me it also looks completely in line with the previous spy shots, even though they clearly changed up the camo. What's below seems identical to me.

The kidney and hood shutlines clearly are NK through and through. The camo is deceiving indeed ;)

Guess we'll see soon enough, but I am not buying this at all. The whole stance of the front on this prototype is completely different from the current G60. Could be a whole different car so radical is the difference.

Maybe BMW is trying to figure out which route they should take for the entire 5er, i5 and M5 ranges, whether to go forward with the Neue Klasse front end makeover, or scale down the whole front fascia to be close to the current pre-facelift design. However, according to the most recent information about the extended production timeline of the whole 5er family, I guess BMW may bring back the extensive Neue Klasse L.C.I. to be on board again.

This - I see nothing different lol

The difference is the camo. They shaped the camo in the form of a kidney grille, but you very clearly see the actual NK grille unchanged below that.

The LCI will completely look like an NK car. This is in line with official statements regarding the future of the BMW design language. The ONLY ones not getting the NK treatment seem to be the facelift 7er and upcoming X7. Probably because they will be the only ones with V8 engine and actually need a big open grille.

Maybe BMW is trying to figure out which route they should take for the entire 5er

Of course not. We're not talking about some clueless startup here.
