Spy Shots [Spy shots] BMW Neue Klasse Coupe

Something noticeable to any eye. Does anyone else think the photographs look staged?

The Angles from where the car was taken are too obvious. And there is no physical access other than the gate at BMW’s proving grounds.
These are not the usual clandestine shots from trees from the days of Hans Lehmann.

Wild.....
The whole rear upper section seems to be in fake covers, so it's hard to tell. But this is exciting as it can be.

A couple weeks back BMW said they would be unveiling something special at Pebble Beach, my guess is this might be it

Vision/Concept i4 coupe?

This looks more FWD than to exhibit proper, classic RWD proportions.

It looks like a true EV more than anything else. A car designed with quad EV motors from day one and no ICE. Look at hoe flat the hood is, the wheel almost sticks through....

The obvious suggestion is a drone, as there's elevated shots too.

I don't think it's Mirimas, is it?

Has no BMW DNA imo. But what a surprise. Wasn’t expecting to see something like this from them.
You can see the N-K grille that mimics the classic ribbed grille. And some ideas from the BMW i8 especially the front overhang.

Oh great... Another electric fat bastard from BMW. They should call it Dynamo instead of 8-series.

There is a reason most EVs are SUVs and that few car manufacturers have bothered with hatchbacks or sports cars. The smaller the car, the less space there is for batteries which results in a short range. This is especially true if the car has quad motors.

Girthy mid section and rear allow BMW to stuff more batteries into the car

Maisach. Makes sense about it being a drone given the specific higher shots.
But manufacturer proving grounds especially this part-time airport are covered under the same laws as flying a drone into an airport. Essentially someone can be in trouble.

Again, there is no 6 Series. I hope that's clear by now. Even BMW put a statement out saying so which is something they never do.
I was just refering to the name. Guess it’s always sexier to call this i6 rather X Coupe i30 or whatever.

In any case, interesting that no one saw this coming. Looks quite stricking.

Something like this would’ve been cool. Definitely has M1 vibes.

If the rear wasn't so high up, yeah.
Idk there's just something very stiff about the proportions. It looks like a doorstop.
They have deliberately covered up the rear. As always notice the rivets. There is a shroud disguising the rear quarter. Unfortunately I don’t think it will float like the i8 did. But appear more like the Vision MNext.
Conventional doors? Or Swan Wing doors?
