Cadillac CT4 [Spy Shots] Cadillac CT4 Spied

The Cadillac CT4 is a sedan manufactured and marketed by Cadillac. It replaced the Cadillac ATS sedan and sits below the CT5 in Cadillac's lineup. The CT4-V was unveiled on May 30, 2019, followed by the standard CT4 four months later.

We’ve already shown you all kinds of Cadillac CT4 spy photos last year. But today, our eagle-eyed spy photographer has caught a potential CT4 V-Sport variant.

While most other Cadillac CT4 prototypes we’ve seen in the past have worn a shiny set of multi-spoke wheels and a dual exhaust treatment, the unit seen here features quad exhaust tips and a darker set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/40 R18 Continental SportContact 6 SSR tires. This is high-performance rubber, as the SSR designation denotes Self Supporting Run-Flat tires. Notably, we have seen this exhaust treatment on a prior CT4 prototype, but that model wasn’t using these wheels.

The exterior of this particular tester doesn’t tell us much else about its positioning in the CT4 lineup, leading us to conclude that it could either be one of these two models:

CT4 V-Sport – which would deliver higher performance than the regular model thanks to a higher-output engine and suspension components, or
CT4 Sport – which would simply be a regular CT4 but with different content (like black trim pieces instead of chrome ones), in line with Cadillac’s new Y trim level strategy

Power should come from the standard 2.0L Turbo LSY four-cylinder engine. The naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX could be offered as an option. A Sport model could be offered with the 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 LGW engine, while the high-performance CT4-V should be available with the new Cadillac 4.2L V8 DOHC LTA engine, otherwise known as Blackwing.

Trim levels will follow the new Cadillac new Y trim level structure, commencing with the base Luxury, followed by mid-level Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and the range-topping Platinum and V-Series trims. Pricing should start in the low $30,000 range.

CT4 will be the best car in this segment. This is not an FWD based CLA.

FAR more significant than these CT4, CT5, XT6 and whatever cars is the news that Cadillac will be spearheading GMs' planned (and long overdue) BEV offensive. An endeavor that will be immensely crucial regarding the survival of not only Cadillac, but GM as a whole. In view of the current slew of new and shortly upcoming automobiles such as the Tesla 3, VW I.D. Neo, Porsche Taycan, Audi eTrons, M-B EQs', BMW i cars and whatever, the aforementioned Cadillac products are of negligible importance.

@John Galt, are we still of the opinion that this is basically a reskinned ATS?
ATS was positioned as a D segment car. And to tell the truth ,it was a lil bit small for that segment. Now it belongs to the C segment. Or C+.
The CT4 will be close in size to the ATS sedan. It will look way more substantial than the A3 and CLA because it’s RWD, and therefore has better design proportions, along with all the other design benefits that a RWD model brings to the table.

I can't believe that Cadillac would do small car RWD car again but this time to compete the A3 and CLA? Seems like a doomed project from the start. People don't want a small Cadillac.

Cadillac will make big cars too. Cadillac will have models in each segment. From the C segment and to the F.
