Cadillac CT5 [Spy Shots] The Forthcoming Cadillac CT5

The Cadillac CT5 is a mid-size luxury car manufactured and marketed by General Motors under the Cadillac brand since 2019. It is the replacement for the Cadillac CTS.
Motor Trend's piece came well after I heard from several sources of disagreement between Johan and other GM leaders. Yes, Johan's product plan is going to be carried out (more or less) but I didn't say he was leaving just because of the cars. He left because he asked for certain resources and was denied them. To say his product plan wasn't negatively influenced by GM's classic self-defeating thinking is sticking your head in the sand.

MT's article is bs. Rumors.

And here comes the proof. As I have said many times, JDN's plan is alive:

Did you even read my post? I said his product plan is going to be carried out; what we don't know is how the execution of the products is going to turn out with different leadership. Don't fool yourself into thinking nothing is going to change.

I'm not worried about the execution, because I saw the new Escalade's interior. Models that will come after that won't go below that standart :)

"He left because he asked for certain resources and was denied them. "

Well, sorry this info is not really correct. Cadillac has received lots of resources just because of him. Resources are not the reason.
There are some personal reasons which are not connected to the brand's policy. Well, you will see :)

Some more photos of the CT4

Some resources does not equal all the resources he requested. And his personal interactions with the board reflect that. Further, good luck believing future models won’t go under the Escalade’s standard. That item I have no info on, but I do know GM. :)

We will see. I like what I see so far. For example, as we see they've put the C-segment car into the RWD platform. Most of the cars in this segmen have the cheap FWD platforms, including the CLA.
CT5 will arrive before the XT6. So its gonna be a test.
Btw, saw the XT6's interior too. Its really good, but there is nothin groundbraking inside compared to the Escalade.
XT6's interior is (CT6/XT5 mixed). But It looks better than the XC90's interior.

So the XT6 is the last model that will get an old school interior... Most intresting will start from the CT4,CT5, Escalade, XT7 etc...

This we can agree on. At the end of the day I'm all for competition, if Cadillac can make an impression on the market than that's great for us consumers.

Cadillac will increase its sales. Step by step. They just need great models. And here they come...
They been trying that for how many years now and have failed to come close to even copying the success of Lexus. Cadillac is a hopeless brand that wont ever be considered premium beyond the US borders. There are many other upcoming premium brands like Volvo and even Alfa Romeo (with Giulia and Stelvio) that kill Cadillac for desirability and interior design and build quality and spread of models.

Yeah, sure)) Lets wait for the CT5 and we will see how the Volvo or Alfa will do against it.

People think this is a Corvette SUV. But I'm pretty sure its a Cadillac XT7. Cayenne/X6 rival on the new RWD platform.

I know that Corvette will become a sub-brand and will get a crossover, but this one is a Cadillac. imho I'll know exactly this week.

Great that Caillac is seemingly going on a product offensive. However, they'll need a strong rebranding (e.g what Kia did/doing with the Stinger) at the same time in order to really attract the younger people who otherwise only go for Audi-BMW-MB-Porsche, Range Rover, Maserati, Tesla, or Lexus-Infiniti-Acura when it comes to "luxury".

"“We have an arsenal of products and technologies that will create even more differentiation for Cadillac and establish a very unique and attractive position for us in the global marketplaces, ” the Cadillac President said. Carlisle backed that up and said, “We feel like mainstream entries need to have references to categories in which they compete — mainstream luxury. But special cars should have special names.”"

New president.

The CT5 will be shown before the 2019.

Saw the interior of the BMW X7 in the X7 thread. Well I'm not going to compare it with the upcoming Escalade. And the photos I've seen.
You will see by yourself. X7's interior will be outclassed. Not joking.

Since the Navigator's interior is often lauded, how would you compare it to that? The Navi went with an almost old-school Americana feel, how would you describe the Escalade, and for that matter, all the upcoming Caddy interior thematically?

Well the good news is that their interiors will be different and won't copy each other.

The CT5's interior, which is a D-class car, is inspired by the Avista concept's interior. Very modern. Looks cool.

The first gen of the XT6 is the last car that will get the same style u can see in the current models: XT4/CT6 mixed...

Now the Escalade will get a fantastic interior. I was blown away to tell the truth. Lincoln has a very nice one in terms of style, materials etc, but there is nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking there...

Escalade

Imagine their last concept Escala's interior, but even better executed. Escala's interior looks a lil bit empty, while the Escalades looks finished. But I can say that they took an inspiration from that conept.
The oled screen is very long, even longer than in the concept. Thats for you to understand how long that screen is:

For examle, the screens from the modern Benz models look like tablets that you can take it off and take with yourself...
While in Escalade the screen looks integrated. Like it was "knifed" or "carved" into the dash. Very beautiful. And yes, it looks American. In a good way.

There are also XT7/XT8 on their way.
