Supra [Spy Shots] Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra is a sports car and grand tourer manufactured and developed by the Toyota Motor Corporation beginning in 1978. The name "supra" is a definition from the Latin prefix, meaning "above", "to surpass" or "go beyond". The 5th generation of the Supra is assembled alongside the G29 BMW Z4 in Graz, Austria by Magna Steyr.
The interior is not an exact copy of the Z4, but it's definitely using BMW switchgear, i.e. the HVAC controls look like the controls you'd find in the 5er and 7er and not the new gen controls seen in the Z4/8er/X5 thus far. The center screen is not joined to the gauge cluster binnacle like in the Z4 or X5. And there's an exposed cupholder and driver's knee pad rising from the central tunnel. The steering wheel, while similar to current BMW steering wheels, is different. And, as Centurion points out, the instrument cluster is different from the gauge cluster we've seen associated iDrive 7.0. I am sure there may be other differences I've probably overlooked after giving it a a quick cursory look.

With the RB26 and 2JZ the engines are so overbuilt as stockmthat massive HP can be had on the...
I and my friends we all working for bmw. So we know how to tuned BMW. Buying stuff on Amozone an instilled in the car white out the knowledge it's not a smart think to do.

Supposedly - quite a bit from internals like pistons and con-rods, to fuel pumps, to turbos.[/QU...
I've been hearing that, too. Stock internals can't handle much more power. Apparently BMW did some very fine precision engineering.

Overdesign of key (as in expensive) engine components is a thing of the past.

According to Schmee deposits will be accepted in October and Deliveries will start in July 2019.

Tokyo Autoshow start on the 11th of January. It will likely debut then but Toyota could treat us to a press release and official images before the new year.

Usually I am not one to correct someone's grammar on the interwebs , especially since mine is so atrocious, but there needs to be a comma after "Schmee," otherwise "Schmee deposits" just sounds gross.

:ROFLMAO:

Nobody is talking about buying stuff on Amazon, I’ve been talking about the Japanese tuners companies like Top Secret.

Awe poor little boys who knows nothing about anything. You still didn’t provide a decade where only BMW build straight 6’s, it’s a big statement to make when you can’t back it up, I’m not the one looking like an idiot.

Yes you are, the biggest idiot on this entire forum.
I don't have to name a decade, I can name many decades. Volvo making some crappy I6 doesn't change a thing as nobody in the entire world bought one in the last 50 years.

And stop polluting this thread with your riced tuner antics. Toyota couldn't have found a better partner in this endeavour, you downplaying that being the crazy troll you are is not needed.

All these nothings add up, but sure. You're right this is no good for anyone. I'll put him on permanent ignore.

Heavier weight also gives higher speed stability and downforce. I came to this realization in my car. I once read Nissan GTR chief engineer explain this to support why he did not want to make the GTR light.

Oh, he should go to Ferrari to explain them to make Laferraris weight 3 tons.
That Nissans (Mizuno) explanation is bullshit my friend.

I'd suggest 330 was maybe showing a quote out of context, there are advantages and disadvantages of weight in many scenarios. Weight is drag free downwards force, and it works at lower speeds. On the flipside, it adds to apparent centrifugal forces during cornering, aero downforce does not... how much of an issue this is then depends on where the mass is in the car in relation to the roll centre - get the C of G below the Roll centre and you can do some interesting things with handling, although corner camber/banking can obviously partially offset extra cornering mass. Weight also offers the N in Ff=µN in all scenarios, which determines static and dynamic friction forces at the tyre, which affects grip - power is utterly irrelevant without tractive force at the tyres. It does add to stability as any other forces acting on the car will have less of an impact on its resultant forces, and unlike aero the mass doesn't disappear under varying scenarios. Of course when you are trying to destabilise the car (i.e. cornering) it's easier to do with less mass. Even in crash scenarios where there's a desire to increase time of impact to reduce deceleration forces on a driver body, you still have to manage crash energy where F=ma is literally a balancing act in this respect.

I'm not saying weight is a good thing, and I'm not saying its the root of all evil... It's all about finding the right compromise for a cars intended purpose, and of course, price point.

@Matski greatly explained. I am too young not to care but to old to try and understand the sums and math within the text but the text makes perfect sense.

Speaking of sense or more to the point senses...
I love the feeling of heavier/solidness.

I am not the guy on the waiting list waiting for my new Pagani. And if a was in the market for a new Phantom I'd rather it be 3 tons than 300kg if you now what I mean.

Mostly, it's simple maths, it's just about remembering that it's rarely as simple as one interaction.

Based on notional sketchy fag packet approximations. A 300kg Phantom would reach ~126mph, at which point, it wouldn't generate enough friction at the tyres to overcome the force of the air hitting the front of the car and would begin spinning its wheels...
