Movies The "I Saw _____ " (Movie) Recently Thread

Alien:Romulus
DJ Xenomorph plays his greatest hits.
8/10.
The tropes are all familiar from the mythical(Prometheus) right through to the insane(Alien:Resurrection) but it’s all executed brilliantly with additional originality and tense moments with a pumping Sound design heavy on bass drums and 303 overtones. As per usual the synthetics steal the show with the usual performance of duality.

Spy Game (2001) (Prime) - Hadn't seen this before, checked it out, pretty great film all in all - 9/10.
From what I remember, it's underrated, IMO. My favorite parts are how Redford played (manipulated) the room during the present-day meeting in the conference room. Also, the movie that started my infatuation with Irish Green Porsches (in this case, a 912).

Event Horizon is very good. But f#cking Weird.
It was a good idea though.
In theory there could be multiple universes and dimensions and if you start tunnelling through space you could end up somewhere you don't want to be.

One thing that spooked me at the end when the woman saw something was whether the Event Horizon ship was already in the other reality when they reached it because the drive was still active, or whether it travelled there during that first explosion when the younger guy saw something and they were therefore still in that reality when they went back towards Earth and the part with the drive was travelling back towards our reality, or whether the entity had come back with them, or was it just PTSD - which seems to be the explanation wiki goes with.

The thing that got me about Event Horizon, was the marketing at the time featured a lot of gruesome imagery that it turned out only featured during momentary flashbacks... not that using the imagery in the film like that was bad, but I think it significantly lessened the effect in the film having it feature so much in the marketing, it's kind of what people were waiting to see.

I can't wait to see Godzilla Minus One. The only good movie of the year apparently.
It's on Netflix UK right now.

Speaking of new movies, Deadpool and Wolverine is out on Disney+ on 12th Nov.

Well i think the point of the movie was visual but the story was better that all current godzilla for me.

Yeah but I was in it for a good story which was promised to me.

Then again, I could have known. A good story and Godzilla don't match. I don't even like Godzilla, but the way they caught him in the movie was lame and dumb as f#ck.
