Renault Megane Estate
The 2016 Geneva International Motor Show will see Renault reveal its new Megane Estate in the form of the range's Estate GT version. Based on the new Megane, this all-new estate is both elegant and sporty. It boasts an intuitive, modular interior with a choice of boot arrangements, as well as the segment's longest maximum load length..

The design of the new Megane Estate blends dynamism and style, enhanced by a chrome trim around the side windows and C-pillar. The roof line is enhanced by matte-finish anodised aluminium roof bars (Dark Metal Color on GT version). The car's low stance and wide track increase the feeling of solidity on the road. The new Megane Estate features a distinctive C-shaped lighting signature at the front.

The new Megane Estate GT bears Renault Sport DNA: the front bumper underlines the model's sporting credentials, while the honeycomb mesh of the radiator grilles is specific to the car and the wide lower air inlet is flanked by two air-scoops. At the rear, the new Megane ESTATE GT is fitted with a chromed exhaust tail pipe and a sculpted diffuser to reinforce its dynamic look.

Meanwhile, the new Megane Estate GT is the first C-segment estate to benefit from 4CONTROL technology. Specifically tailored to the new Megane Estate, 4CONTROL endows the car with precise, dynamic handling on twisty roads and generates genuine driving pleasure. Thanks to 4CONTROL, the new Megane Estate GT is exceptionally agile in built-up areas.

2016 Renault Megane UK pricing revealed, only four engines available

Renault UK has decided its customers won't want several versions of the all-new Megane hatchback and has also changed some of the trim levels. However, we think it's going to be a very popular car, based purely on the styling and the £16,600 entry price.

We can't say we disagree with their decision, but just so you know, there will only be two petrol and two diesel engines available, at least for now.

The cheapest unit is the TCE 130, a turbocharged 1.2-liter making... you guessed it 130 horsepower (metric, it's 128 bhp). In France, the Megane also has a 100 hp version, buy you don't want that. With a 0 to 62 mph time of 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 122 mph, you won't win any races, buy at least it's on par with a regular Civic, Golf or Mazda3.

The other basic engine on the Megane is the 1.5 dCi 110. It's a little less slow, but we think 76.5 mpg and 96 grams per kilometer compensate for that very well. Prices for the diesel start at £17,900. Your only other oil-burning option is the 1.6 dCi 130 that gets to 62 in 1.6 seconds. However, it costs anywhere from £20,600, so it's not for everybody.

And finally, we arrive at the model we know you want, the Megane GT. It's got a 205 PS version of the 1.6-liter found in the Clio RS. Not only that, but torque has been increased to 280 Nm. With a 0 to 62 time of 7.1 seconds, it's not as fast as a GTI, but the standard 7-speed EDC gearbox and the 4Control all-wheel steering system add character. Prices start at £25,500, and for that, you also get Navigation.

A part of the All-New Renault Megane’s sports range, the GT-Line Nav provides a more sporty and dynamic appearance with exterior and interior enhancements. It looks like the 205 hp hot model, buy you can have it with a normal engine. To the front, a wider lower air intake with a honeycomb-pattern mesh is flanked by lateral scoops. Dark metal 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels and door mirror housings match the finish on the front air scoops and rear diffuser.

The screen integration is awful, second only to the A/B/C/GLA/GLK classes. Looks so last minute addition. PSA is much better at interior design, compared to Renault.

Don't like this Megane, the Talisman is much better looking, perhaps even best in class (maistream, of course)

New Megane is ugly, sadly. I drove behind one yesterday. These rearlights are too big, and the front is just..........ugly
