Changing temperature in my Model 3 is actually annoying. It takes your eyes off the road a bit too long for my taste. I'm afraid BMW will follow this trend and "integrate" the climate control into the screen. Clearly a disimprovement in my eyes.
There is nothing I hate more than on-screen HVAC controls. They should be hardware buttons or dials forever so that you can adjust using muscle memory.

First time we see the actual headlight outline?

It's going to be a good looking SUV for sure, and the grille suits this car much, much better than the 4er.
Horizontal grille for low cars, vertical for tall cars seems like a better solution.

The design is very clean and modern, without gimmick details, which I like. But the area around the A pillar seems so fuzzy? It looks like there are two little side windows next to the main window?

Sorry, but excuse me? The proportions?
Yes. Very long and horizontal headlights with the thin and long vertical grill, the small wheels compared to these over the top size features. I’m not a BMW hater, I do like the G05, the facelifted 7 series(except for the back), but this is terrible, they could have done a better job, and actually thats what pisses me off, that they could but they chose is Toyota Prius approach, make everything look out of place, not cohesive, “so we are different from our competitors”....

So reportedly it will be called just iX? Not iX6/iX7/iX8, which would have made much more sense from a lineup hierarchy and clarity perspective, especially for customers trying to make out the rapidly growing offer on the market.

I get it that this vehicle is temporarily meant to be THE flagship BMWi, at least the flagship BMWi SUV, with a design language and visible tech that are self-explanatory and may not need a particular label to set it clearly above all other present and impending BMWi models. However BMW will eventually and necessarily make an even larger and more upmarket BMWi SUV over time - think all-electric X7 - where the iX or its successor will no longer be THE flagship BMWi SUV. So they may as well call the iX iX6 or iX7 to make an impactful statement that this is indeed the flagship, even though its successor may later be 'downgraded' to iX5 to make room for a larger model?

Same issue with the Audi 'just e-tron quattro' which doesn't say anything about it being THE flagship Audi e-tron SUV, and which will soon be awkwardly lost within the Audi e-tron nomenclature alongside the Q4 e-tron, Q6 e-tron, etc.

Totally agree with you, this whole product naming is an issue at all 3 big Germans I think.
First of all BMW makes electric versions of a car, but meanwhile they have an electric lineup which are unique in design as well and can be considered a family.
there is the iX3 which is based on the X3 and then now a simple iX which should represent the all electric and electric only BMW family? Then the i7 will be an electric 7 Series or a completely new electric luxury car?

Audi has the same problem as you described.

Mercedes didn’t think it through either: having the same naming logic EQ.. they can’t categorize whether it’s a sedan or an SUV. EQA, EQB, EQC are SUV, for sure we have the EQS and EQE sedans, but it is not cohesive at all with the traditional naming logic of Mercedes.

.... tiring

Those are design details, not the proportions.

The proportions look like a normal BMW X car, nothing wrong with them.

At first glance in that photo it seems to me that the false camouflage panels are no longer there, if that is the case, it already clearly shows the definition of the huge greenhouse and details of the definitive kink with the C pillar treatment, in general it looks a lot more traditional than I thought and what the concept suggested

well, those are proportions, not global, but local elements, and their proportions to one another sucks

I'd call them design details, which they are. My rule is that proportions can't be changed with a facelift, while design details can.
