S-Class W223 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.
Yes and with the Mopf there’ll be less black shiny plastic in the interior.
I really hope they get rid of that fugly black shiny plastic in the interior. If they still keep that shite in the interior, then I have no hope for Mercedes future.

The W222 proudly claimed that it only had 1 piece of plastic on its doors, the inner part of the door release handle. It's a shame these doors are now full of plastic.

All the switches, seat controls, and door handle were plastic, just molded in color or electroplated….

Likely, inner support structure was too.

In this video from 30:10 onwards he has featured Camouflaged W223 facelift & Ola is talking about it briefly.. which means this guy have experienced the new S class, probably it’s getting closer to unveiling.

A senior MB executive other days said I shouldn’t miss IAA Munich this time as I’m a S-class fan, after seeing this video I feel we may see either the real one or some revealing of interior or so.

After so many months of covering, we still have not seen any more details revealed on the front or rear of the MOPF S-class. I hope we will see the car uncovered at the IAA at Munich next month. That would be a very nice surprise.

Doesn't look like the S will adopt the GLC EV front grill design changes.

I suspect we will see the FL before the years end, with an all new model for 2028.

I also think the W224 will move upmarket.

The W214 is the closest gap they've had between E and S in some time, and the Chinese are putting a lot of pressure on the Germans. The next S will have to be a knock out in many respects, and that's going to cost $.

Most interesting will be the future convergence of exterior design for ICE-Hybrid and BEV configurations.

The way the Chinese brands have moved upmarket so fast and are having cars at least 30% cheaper than the S-class and with even more features and tech is mind blowing to say the least and Mercedes needs a Bruno Sacco moment with the W224 to once again put them in the top step of the podium for tech and luxury. The Yangwang U7 and Nio EP9 are cars I can think of that has delivered tech and luxury even higher than the S-class. The next W224 must be more bespoke with Manufaktur been put into a higher RR type choose as you build spec with the finest materials used even if it costs 20 to 30% more.

Fit, finish, design and lightness will be key. Hopefully they can put some of that fancy 3D printed body structure tech from the EQXX into practice. It's expensive tech obviously, but it makes sense in an application such as the S class, which always serves to debut leading edge tech and luxury.

W224 needs to not be so screen heavy. That doesn't mean no screens at all, but they shouldn't be the focal point or a replacement for high quality tactile instruments.

Integration of screens into rather than onto the dash-and center console may significantly boost aesthetics as well as the atmosphere of high quality luxury. Porsche and several Chinese manufacturers have been doing this well. In addition, digitally created wood, carbon fiber and granite veneer or brushed metal surface images could be a future solution for enhancing interior environments. Under the screen glass, they would appear to be highly polished and not necessarily "fake", provided that they are done well. And they can be electronically matte surfaced as well as switched on or off. Interesting possibilities lie here.

I would be happy if Mercedes could get rid of the screens and instead use the Augmented Reality Windscreen. That would be a world wide first in a production car and would make the dash a treat for the interior designers to go wild with some hitech and unusual material trim. I also hope they bring in the mushroom leather and carpets made from fiber of recycled plastic bottles or any new sustainable materials. 3D printed parts would be good to save weight, especially the suspension, interior. Axial flux motors and thinner and more compact battery cell tech would also help to reduce weight.

I fear the only noteworthy change in the interior will be the Hyper-Screen, which is a shame imo. The S-Class needs much more than a full screen layout. We need more buttons, woods, textures, chrome, and things that scream luxury. Unfortunately having so many screens look cheap.
