S-Class W223 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013.
I wonder if the set ups varied significantly between markets. The EQC was universally praised down here for outstanding ride quality and refinement.
It’s almost as stiff as my G, and this isn’t a very comfy car.

It’s a tiny bit softer than a GLC43, but that’s about it.

I had a EQC400 as a loaner, also the ground clearance is a choke about 10cm(my dealer warned me about that), which I couldn’t believe until I scratched the road with the car.

I guess it’s possible that Europe got a stiffer suspension because of Germany.

14cm ground clearance in Australia.

According to auto motor sport: 97mm ground clearance

Mercedes has always been amongst the best in the world for ICE powertrain and technology, its engines have always had the best injection and management systems, and combined with benchmark automatic transmissions, have always produced the quietest and refined ride amongst cars in all their saloons. With their EV powertrains, however, they have been caught with their pants down and have been surpassed by much cheaper brands, especially the Chinese. The powertrains in the EQA and EQB are far behind comparable rivals in range and charging, and to be honest, have been an embarrassment for the brand. The new CLA however has restored some faith in the brand with its 350kw charging capability and nearly 800km EV range so we are hoping for great things to come from the brand, especially now they have bought Yasa and have benchmark electric motors.

The EVA2 vehicles and especially the EQA/EQB have powertrain components that are mostly “off the shelf” from suppliers. The CLA was the start of MB’s homegrown solutions that exemplify the usual engineering standard.

It’s just sad yet alarming that they can’t get the rear door to fit in the opening correctly.

I get what you are saying here.
The shorter rear door cutaway is basically done for luxury and privacy. If that cutaway extended all the way to the chrome plate, like a traditional S-Class, it would be too elongated and would defeat the purpose.

Just like the Maybach 62. I like that large door doesn’t make you feel you are right at the rear wheel arches. The RR Phantom,Ghost and Cullinan too.
