5 Series [Official] 2020 BMW 5 Series G30 LCI (Facelift)

The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972. The car is sold as either a sedan or, since 1991, a station wagon (marketed as "Touring"). A 5-door fastback (marketed as "Gran Turismo") was sold between 2009 and 2017. Each successive generation has been given an internal G-code designation since 2017. Previously, a F-code designation was used between 2010 and 2016, while an E-code designation was used between 1972 and 2010. These are used to distinguish each model and generation from each other.
I noticed that on the Alpina Configurator earlier, didn't pick up on it being a special edition, but thought it was odd the standard B5 had gone from the model list...

... assumed it was part of the slow-wind down of Alpina as we know it.

... anyhow.

B5 GT...

It's often hard for me to choose between equivalent Mercedes and BMW models. The Alpina variant tips the scale for me every time, and this B5 GT might be the last ICE BMW I would consider as an option.

What a machine!🙂

Agree.

Furthermore diesel clatter and vibrations are less of an issue in the 5 and 7 which have superior insulation to the 3.

A future classic among all the new ugly and bizarre BMW designs.

This one looks like the spec I test drive when this generation 5er arrived on our shores in 2017.
The 540i is the one to choose if you want a good sporty 5er. ( I personally would steer clear of the 550i because of engine reliability issues.)
The latest 5er is a great driving car. My only issue with it was the lack of dial-in feedback through the steering. Turn-in was crisp but I felt no road info in the process. (The Cadillac CTS I drove absolutely killed the 5er with steering feel) The next 5er should be improved in that area. Materials, seat comfort, and overall ergonomics are top-notch.

Most new cars have numb steering. The steering in the G80/G82 is highly engaging but not ZOMG orgasmic in feedback.

M550i sounding awesome and accelerating like a cheetah hunting its lunch.
