M3/M4 [Official] 2021 BMW M3 and M4 [G80 & G82]

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3.

210k for a 3er, guys. Right here in Holland.
I would literally consider half of that expensive.

It looks incredible if you imagine it without the fugly red parts. Those rims are spectacular too, in good BMW fashion.

I'm obliged to agree with these gents when it comes to value for money and everyday usability. If I have to be driving at 10/10ths ALL of the time, then it's the M3. Realistically, the other 2 fit my bill rather nicely. And maybe I'm just a little old..

We are going to start reaching a point where super sedan's and the like are basically unusable at more than 6-7 tenths on roads.

You could argue the last generation M5, E63 and RS6 were already at that point. But look now at the Tesla Plaid, Lucid Sapphire, and how on earth can you enjoy driving those cars at the limit on a road?

Really something with the power of the current M3 or previous C63 are probably at the limit of what you can enjoy on a public road anywhere near the limit.

You don’t even have to choose between either for live. Buy the M3. Once you have scratched the M itch and tasted the sharp steering and pointy front-end, buy the Alpina or M340i.

BMW M3 Touring v Audi RS4 Competition – hardcore estates go head-to-head

First the RS6 and inevitably the fettled RS4 Competition, which received high praise here.

"In sodden conditions the RS4 Competition is as assured as expected. Perhaps more so. Where the standard car’s rear Sport differential seems to have a slightly artificial and abrupt actuation – working well to pin the front tyres to the road but then creating a whip of sudden oversteer on corner exit – the Competition just feels hooked-up, very neutral and with supreme traction. Perhaps you don’t get the spikes of adrenaline, but it’s really satisfying to build up a natural rhythm and realise that very few cars could even hope to keep up and fewer still with such precise composure. The Corsa tyres might not be ideal for streaming roads but you’d never know it. The treadblocks squeeze through the water and find incredible purchase."

"Perhaps this outcome was inevitable. Audi has done a fantastic job of creating a supple, precise performance estate with real poise and quite staggering composure, but the RS4 Competition is built upon a platform that simply isn’t as versatile and inherently athletic as the BMW’s."

- Jethro Bovingdon for evo UK, issue 314.

Audi RS4 Competition Plus: 7.39,35
BMW M3 Competition Touring: 7.34,39

You can't go back after the M. Both are downgrades, but the M340 is a very severe one.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
