Giulia [Official] Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. Known internally as the Type 952, it was unveiled in June 2015, with market launch scheduled for February 2016, and it is the first saloon offered by Alfa Romeo after the production of the 159 ended in 2011.
I am glad whatever negative issues about the interior we have heard were only due to the cars tested being pre-production.

All, very, very encouraging. If reliability is up-to-snuff, the Giulia will be an absolute winner.

Hmh. Regarding interior. All of them are using same supplier. So I can't imagine real issue except perception.

Regarding navigation button they are mentioning. It should be a bit loose because of the way they wants to be operated, something like a joystick, you can move it in all directions.
For me the major issue could be plastic around gear stick.

They offer some options in technical stuff and interior that Germans don't and vice-versa. They offer LSD with all engines. They said it's the newest generation of Torsen. They offer full grain leather and dashboard wrapped in leather. But there is no head up display.

I heared that there is/was a comparison test in the german Autobild Sportscars between M3 and Giulia ... somebody here has read it and has some info on that?

Randy P Motor Trend: M3 vs QV coming soon..

You have to wonder why they don't use the C63s or ATS-V instead which supposedly dethroned the benchmark M3.

I read the issue. BMW M2 also got a "award" - Best B-road Hero.

Readers also had a cance to vote:
1. Alfa Giulia
2. Porsche 911R
3. Aston Martin DB11
..
...
15. Mercedes E-class Estate.

Ok, this and a 911 GT3 in my garage, and I'd want for nothing more, automotively speaking. Well maybe having the Quadrofoglio in wagon form instead of a sedan.

Not Autobild but I have seen the comparison between CP M3 Dkg and a manual Quadrifoglio on AutoZeitung..Of course M3 won in every sector including fahrdinamic and engine and so on..Only for confort and costs, Q.got a small advantage..Even on race track M3 was 1.5 sec faster. They even broke a new record on the 0-100 km/h for the Alfa...An incredible 4.7 sec for this classic distance (negative world record...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::banghead:)..Compliments to this tester...0-60 km/h in 2 sec and 60-100km/h in 2.7 sec..(y) very good marketing job..

just to get an idea, from Autozeitung test:

Q vs M3
0-40 1,2 - 1,8
0-60 2 - 2,6
0-80 3,6 - 3,4
0-100 4,7 - 4,4 (?)
0-120 6,2 - 5,6
0-140 7,7 - 7
0-160 9,2 - 8,7
0-180 11.7 -10,7
0-200 14,1 -13,2
fron 0 to 60 the Q seems much faster than M3 and then from 60 to 80 km/h the Q needs 1.6 sec (M3 needs half time :0.8 sec) ??come'n...my Suv turbodiesel is faster...

AutoZeitung had some issues with the Alfa's gearbox, especially in the first gears - it's stated in the article.

M3 is quicker because it's DKG.

Btw. in 98% of European tests AZ is the fastest in acceleration... ;)

sounds much better now, tks...even if they found an issue. If you look at numbers, just before they engage the 2th gear (between 70 and 80 Km/h), Giulia seems much faster...With the automatic gear the results would have been even better.
