M3/M4 [Official] BMW M4 GTS

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

RPM TV in South Africa giving us their take on the GTS. I really love the muscular stance of this car and the cinematography in this video exploits that perfectly (y):t-applaus

BMW M4 GTS production ended with 803 units, over the 700 projected

BMW’s baddest and fastest sports car today has ended its production cycle. Despite its initial projection of just 700 units worldwide, the M4 GTS managed to squeeze on the production line quite a few more units. Back in April this year, BMW announced it will manufacture no more than 700 units of the high-performance M4 GTS, described the model as “a special edition limited to 700 units to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3.”

But the final number is 803 units for the globe, still a very rare and limited car, which will likely hold its value on the used car market. May even become a collectors item. BMW’s initial plan called for 300 units to the United States, 80 to Germany, 50 to Canada, 15 to China, and 30 to the United Kingdom and Japan. It’s unclear what the final distribution was.

What’s clear though is that the last M4 GTS is headed for the United States, was produced on November 28 and is painted in Black Sapphire.

The M4 GTS is also one of BMW’s fastest and most track-ready cars. With 493 hp, a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, water-injection and manually adjustable shocks, the M4 GTS is ready to munch almost anything that comes to the track. The M4 GTS was priced at $133,205 in the US.

That's strange, if they did limit purely for marketing reasons then why not going on with the initial limit, if it's for production capacity reasons then why did they finally stop making it after managing to unlock additional factory time.

Because about six weeks ago, BMW launched the M4 DTM Champion Edition, which is just a GTS with a different name. It's a way of milking more money from the GTS without pissing off GTS owners, although I think GTS owners are too busy filling up their engines with a hose pipe to notice.

"Effectively an M4 GTS but with a different set of decals"

Just watched TGT do a review of the M4GTS and it was terrible Jeremy liked nothing about it all and it was 2s slower than the 911 GT3 RS. No publications seems to like it at all. I love BMW, but for me it's a total failure! I don't think there's an M car that has got more negative reception than it.They might have sold all of them , but not because they are that good just limited.

They are asking 250.000$ for this car - the prices are going through the roof

It's questionable if it's worth that much. M4 enthusiasts who are serious about performance simply buy an M4 and do suspension, brake and other upgrades before even breaking in the car.

It is not about being "worth" that much - this is a rare car that in 10 or 20 years will be much more valuable than an aftermarket upgraded M4.
Just like the M3CSL is something special even today
People buy these because they want the special edition M4, and also doesn't hurt that probably it will just gain in value

The other issue is that after market upgrades tend of have little resale value on a car. In some cases they even devalue a car.

I have seen a few low milage M3 CSL that have held their value very well.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
