The Jaguar F-Pace (X761) is a compact luxury crossover SUV made by Jaguar Land Rover. It is the first Jaguar model in the SUV class.

It's gorgeous. I hope Jaguar's dealers are ready for all these new products, they're going to be quite busy.

They could at least copy the amazing interior the RR Sport has. If spy shots are true, we are, sadly, for a new XE case.

But no doubt the exterior looks nice.

Depends on how they'll position it. If they go purely by size class it's more X3, GLC, Q5 than X5 in everything but the width (the concept, like most RR products too is just so damn wide... almost to the point of being impractical in certain old european town areas)

Jaguar F-Pace Concept
Length: 4,718mm
Width: 1,959mm

Range Rover Evoque
Length: 4,370mm
Width: 1,985mm

BMW X3
Length: 4,657mm
Width: 1,881mm

Range Rover Sport
Length: 4,850mm
Width: 2,073mm

BMW X5
Length: 4,887mm
Width: 2,184mm

Size-wise it falls between the X3 and Range Rover Sport leaving positioning open to whatever Jaguar decided. However, the interior space will play a decisive role in whether it's a big SUV or a mid sized one.

Well two things to consider -

1) The length may be slightly longer than X3/Q5/GLC, but looking at de facto premium car class size it will be considered to be within that range. X3 and Q5 will be replaced shortly and they will surely grow in dimensions slightly. The new Audi A4 is about 10 cm longer than the current 3 series (4,726 mm vs 4,624 mm) and nobody considers it to be /between/ 3 series and 5 series in class. In fact the new A4 is going to be around 1 cm longer than this upcoming F-Pace if it keeps the dimensions of the concept.

2) That width for X5 is WITH mirrors, the width for X3, RR Sport, RR Evoque is without. RRs are wider than X5, no matter the class... and as somebody with an X5 let me tell you that damn thing is wide. Width will not play a role in determining class, even though it is getting out of hand, practicality wise.

Jaguar can try and position F-Pace a class higher despite the dimensions, as RR tries to do with RR Evoque (regularly pitted against X3/Macan even though by size criterion they would be more X1/Q3/GLA competitors), but that's a difficult thing to do - you must have a feature like a class higher interior or tech or brand cachet to get away with it.
