The disadvantage of bicolor interiors is, that it looks aged, old-fashioned so quickly. The yellow inside an sclass throws me off.
You can enjoy this generation probably a longer time than usual, since rumor has it, it will be in production for more than 7 years. Maybe a W126-like production period of time. I wouldn’t mind.I just love this generation S-Class. For me they've never gotten the S-Class wrong at least design wise. The W220 still sticks out as the poorest quality S ever tho. I'm partial to the W140 for obvious reasons.

If this car has a 9year or 10 year run then it could be close to matching the W126 in terms of sales and be the best selling S-class of all timeYou can enjoy this generation probably a longer time than usual, since rumor has it, it will be in production for more than 7 years. 818.036 W126 were produced between 1979 and april 1992. I think so too, W223 could surpass the W126 regarding sales if it’s going to be in production for more than the usual 7-8 years. My bet is, W223 will be in production for at least 10 years (2030).If this car has a 9year or 10 year run then it could be close to matching the W126 in terms of sales and be the best selling S-class of all time

The W220 is still a very good looking S-class, when its is good condition. The interior was its biggest failure, it definitely had the worst materials used on any S-class. Such a shame Mercedes didnt replace the entire interior when it was facelifted.Poor W220... It looked good (still looks good) and it was very modern for its time, but Jürgen Schrempp made sure to use the cheapest materials possible in the execution.
Most tragic S-class ever IMO.
All the right ingredients were there, but they hired the most incompetent chef to cook it.

He was in fact an engineer. Unlike the current CEO.That chef was an accountant not an engineer
Was not meant literally, in the sense that after McKinsey came in etc the philosophy of the brand changed. No longer were the cars being built to a standard but to a cost point instead. Ultimately brand equity suffered as build quality and the like are core to the brand. The 140 was built the old school way of course, with the 220/ 163 etc they went the new route. Thankfully we are in a better place now but to expect the mid 90s level quality going forward is fanciful. Now I wonder if / when Porsche will wake up. The fan/ customer base is so loyal that they may just keep getting away with it. If I were in the market for a weekend toy it would be a low mileage 991.2He was in fact an engineer.
