Reposting to say that...

... this thing is the shit!

Very monolithic. As though it was formed from a single billet of aluminium.

It is amazing how a change of color can do wonders for the car.

I was at Geneva on Friday, and the difference between the red and dark blue RS 5 was like night and day. The red one looked dull and unaggressive. The blue one, whilst still looking a little too understated, was far better looking. This could be down to the colour hiding the lines on the blue one, but it also had the black package. The red one had brushed silver everywhere which I think makes a car look less aggressive.

I'm not sure for the reason behind the question as Audi no longer implements a Torsen centre differential in their new models. My opinion is that Torsen's days as a centre differential are numbered - if not dead. With the massive upswing in electro-mechanical differential actuation the pure (and no doubt elegant) mechanical function of the Torsen helical concept is rendered obsolete in the role of centre diff.

I am under the impression that the Torsen diff doesn't work with a torque vectoring system. Audi has shifted focus to the more sophisticated torque vectoring system for the foundation of the (upper end of) Quattro badge, which needs an electromechanical system in order for power to be distributed as the system says.

Torsen, being a purely mechanical system, doesn't allow any ECU to say how power will be delivered.

Out of all the German compact coupes this one looks the least attractive, it just is too plain and lacks the aggressive and fabulous looks of both M4 and C63 S.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
