So a genuine question…. This or the M5?

With the M5 gaining so much mass, is this a better proposition as a fast saloon? I think that the acceleration figures aren’t that far off..

In the US at least they are about $35-50K in difference.
To me extremely rich people who want "the best" that extra 5% power, will be enough to convince them. They don't care about the extra $35k. They just want the badge.

Why don't they just get the Porsche Panamera E-hybrid or the GT63 e performance 4 door? Maybe they would, but the M5 itself is an icon of the industry and some people just want those 2 letters on the back of their car.

we don't get the diesel around these parts, but the E450 All-Terrain Estate is, I think, the perfect car for a one-car garage. I'd be VERY content with a Verde Silver over Tonka Brown leather/brown woodtrim san Hype-screen.

I've driven the E at least 4 times now in different variants, and its an outstanding vehicle.

Similarly The S450 is all the Luxury car we need, without starting to spend much bigger dollars either on a Maybach or looking at the likes of Bentley etc.

Is it much different or improved compared to the W213? My guess there are incremental improvements in refinement and comfort and handling with the 4 wheel steering fitted. When I go back home I will see if I can pop in the local Mercedes dealer and take one for a drive.

In my opinion, there is a significant difference between the two E450 All-terrain generations that I drive back to back. This latest generation has better steering, ride quality, and power delivery. The NVH reduction is very noticeable as well.

Agreed. The improvement from the W213 to W214 is even greater than the W222 to W223.
