X3 M / X4 M [Official] The BMW X3 M (F97) and the BMW X4 M (F98)

In 2019, BMW introduced the X4 M and X4 M Competition (F98), being the first time an X4 had a M version. The X4 M is fitted with a 3.0 L S58 straight-six that produced 473 horsepower with the Competition models producing 503 horsepower. Full M models can be fitted with full M specific M Performance Parts. These include a splitter, spoiler, sport steering wheel, carbon fibre vents and kidney grilles.
BMW M is at last bringing excellent competition to the Macan turbo and AR Stelvio. Based on appearance and numbers I'd take the BMW over either!
Same here, despite the weight they seem adamant that it will be an M3/4 on rails, they are really confident and proud about what they've built.

Speaking with someone earlier who has their order submitted for this Specification.

Replacing an M3 Competition. For an X3M Competition.

thank you scott27, thank to you I have my tickets for Geneva, and the BMW evening event. X3M and X4M seems to be gosht visitors, maybe there will be there only during press days . BUT 2 other M car will be there, one in the closed room and one only during the BMW private event.

My guess; Closed Room - M8, Private Event - X5M or something likely to be sold in fewer numbers like the M2 CS

I know of the M8 and the new M twins.

I do not know if they will show @ Geneva? Probably not as they don't have enough space. But the next lot of previews are the 1er, 8er Gran Coupe and the X6.

true in the closed doors showroom fits only one car. one M8 will be showcased in the closed room, and another M8 during the bmw event evening. ;o)

Been invited to another event at the BMW Airfield in April which is to see the X3M and X4M. I do not think you will get to drive them at this time. But similar experiences have been watching the cars being driven hard with a beer in your hand.
The M8 & M8 Competition (All Twins together) will also be there prior to their reveal at Le Mans in June?
I expect X5 M will also be shown as probably the M8 Convertible?

HI Scott27, I was going to ask you and Bmwblog when were supposed the first reviews of X3M and X4M to come out. I believe you answered to my question Nothing before May-June. Long time waiting.

And in GVA the 2 M8 to be showcased privately are the coupe and the convertible.

July, drives start in June, so likely a month embargo.

thx Bmwblog, So I will be a lucky very happy early owner, mine arriving end of August. I thought production starts in April, don't BMW use the first one for press reviews?

It's going to be epic. I can't wait to read what you guys and the rest of the media has to say about the S58!

This is going to be BMW's most important engine in terms of what the brand stands for in the last years (decade?) of ICE...

The nose is excellent. Not to nitpick but slightly wider fenders would have completed the aggression and distinguished the car more the M40i and M-Sport models.

Here is a video during a dealer presentation. Sadly the guy who took the video isn't Steven Spielberg...

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
