I'm curious about whether the parallel section above the wood on the dash is leather or plastic.
Judging by the high-res photos from Volvo's press site, I'd say plastic.

It doesn't have the typical botched FWD proportions either. Great work.

It does, but it's not so terrible. Frankly, I am more tolerant with Volvo than I am with either MB or BMW. EDIT: Actually, I agree. When staring at the side profile view of the gray example, I don't get a FWD feel. Kudos, Volvo!
Not bad Volvo, not bad. XC90 and now this. I've never really cared for Volvo till these two showed up.
Can we attribute this to the Chinese?
That is a bit harsh, they saw the investment opportunity, and funded the brand new range of cars. They saved Volvo and took a hands off approach and trust Volvo to make good with the large sums of money they were given. No, not to Chinese design, strategy or technology. Just their cash....

Disagree totally. No it doesn't. The front overhang is short an there is just as much space between the front wheels and the front doors as on most RWD cars.

Ok, what is this assembly? Why does it require air from the intake and what's in the green container?
^ V90 Comes at Geneva I'm reading elsewhere.

Good question, I posted that hoping someone could shed some light on that, especially that green tank.
