Random Thoughts...

Does it shake when at rest or not holding something ? Tremors become increasingly common with increasing age.

I have noticed that it trembles when not holding something either. It gets really bad when holding a glass of water, for instance. I couldn't even fit a clasp to a wooden door because I couldn't hold the bolts in place with my left hand.

Arrange to get an appointment with a.) a neurologist...b.) an orthopedist. In that order. A neurologist will examine lumbar fluid. Should it be "clear" and autoimmune disorder syndromes or encephalitis dismissed as the cause of the tremor, the next step will be the orthopedist, who will check for neck vertebrae misalligments. Tremors are quite common and can be a nuisance, but otherwise quite harmless. And should there be no evidence of vertigo or difficulty walking, problems with vision or speech difficulties, it would be an indication of nothing that is too critical. Still...get it checked.

It's somewhat deeply ridiculous in the UK. Parking it is a nightmare unless you've got another space Infront or behind, it doesn't really do that good a job at dealing with our shitty roads, and the slide out load tray in the back renders the cargo area under the lid less useful than a decent estate car or touring model. The gearbox is also terrible, it refuses to pick a gear, and when it does, it's the wrong one.

All that said, I do kinda get the attraction of the pick up in general. And it's amazing just how many I notice on UK roads now...

Probably a question already frequently asked on these forums. But it just crossed my mind anyway.

I wonder whether automotive industry OEM professionals, designers, engineers, marketing or whatever, "of genuine influence" frequent these forums on a regular basis.

Report: Ferrari were SO impressed by the Xiaomi SU7, they bought one.

With its tire-blistering acceleration and record-setting performance, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has been getting attention throughout the auto industry, impressing everyone who’s seen it. That “everyone” now seems to include the OG supercar brand, itself.

CarNewsChina posted pictures from a Weibo user that reportedly show a Xiaomi SU7 Ultra exiting the storied Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy. According to a Chinese blogger going by 西米露在博洛尼亚 (which seems to translate to “Sago Dessert in Bologna”), the prancing horse brand is actively benchmarking the Chinese hypercar for its own upcoming EV.

LMAO

I met Shmee by the buffet in the American Airlines Lounge in Terminal 5 at LAX about 18-months ago, and he was incredibly generous in blessing me with 10-seconds of conversation while he shovelled overcooked pasta into his cake hole. During our brief but incredibly exciting encounter, I got the distinct impression he wouldn't piss on me if I was on fire, in which case I won't hold back in revealing the first statement in this photo is true. As for the second, I never got the chance to ask his girlfriend who was with him, but I'll be so bold as to say it's probably true, also. However, judging by the way he was looking at the oversized bananas in the fruit section, he's more of a receiver than a giver.

I ordered a new car at the end of May, which I found out yesterday has been pushed back until the last week of September.

When I first saw one in real life, I got the feeling they'd made the best possible car they could within the budget they'd been given, as opposed to certain manufacturers at the moment who seem to build a car as cheaply as they can get away with.

I'm open to guesses...

M3 Touring.

(my new arrival is one of the cheapest you can buy).

I keep on suspecting the base version of the Dacia Spring EV, as it is reported to be the least expensive new BEV available here in Germany ( 16,900.- Euros list price). I imagine that it is no different in the Netherlands or U.K.

But I believe that you have already mentioned that the mystery car is NOT the Dacia.

Oh well...it's fun guessing what it may be. FIAT 500e ?...Renault Twingo EV ?...

Identical here in The Netherlands in fact.

I'm convinced that for 95% of the population, EVs make far more sense than ICEs. They're just too set in their ways and influenced by anti-EV propaganda to realise it.

They would make sense if it was easy to charge them. Which it factually isn't for the vast majority of people.
Range anxiety is a serious issue too. People want to be able to drive to a vacation destination properly.
This coming from someone who likes EV cars....

So when are you going to tell us?
