GLB [Renders] 2019 Mercedes GLB

The Mercedes-Benz GLB (model code X247) is a crossover SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz. The GLB is positioned between the GLA and the larger GLC in size, however unlike these vehicles the GLB is equipped with optional third row seating due to better space distribution.
Are you sure about this ?
I didn't realise it's so close..
This one does seem to be outpacing other models in terms of how quick it's moved from concept to design.
Likely because it's a shared platform.
I'd be surprised considering the entire camo skin is still intact.

In the US, you can't have enough SUVs. This definitely fills a niche. I lost a sale recently to a Discovery Sport from a used GLK, and it was strictly a cargo space issue. Large dogs. This will even have more rear cargo than a GLC.
Traditional SUV two box design is needed as none of the other SUVs have it minus the G wagen. It creates a ton of cabin volume. It has tidy design so i don't get the hate, other than some have sounded like trolls lately.

I wouldn't even consider the GLB a niche car. Many of families want big practical cars but not an R-Class or GrandTourer. The X5, Q7 and GLE out of many people's price range to buy or to run as they eat their pricey tyres quickly, guzzle fuel and expensive to service. Those who can't afford either of the three will be happy to drive the GLB which will have inferior suspension, sound insulation and less sophisticated suspension.

And spoil my birthday?

I don’t think so Mercedes! Keep it under wraps please.

Your safe it's expected to be launched next year, probably Geneva in March?
There is no NAIAS in 2019 at least for the German contingent.

Nice that they treat the rear lights as the GLE ones and not the A class...for an SUV it looks better this way

So GLB, GLC FL, GLE COUPE, GLC FL COUPE and CLA still to come until the new C and S class are revealed late 2019
I wonder when all of these will be presented...maybe early next year ?!

No way new S and C are reveled in late 2019. C class facelift just came out. Haven't even seen a new C class mule or prototype.

It's going to be immensely popular, watch and see. It may take a small bite out of GLC sales, but either way they've got a hit for the current SUV nuts market.

Amazed how many people we have coming in for the pre-owned GLKs and who do not like the "rounded" SUVs. This should be a winner. Looks to be very roomy.

Interior look like its taken directly from B-class.

That’s true, I have also heard people asking why GLK axed? RHD market haven’t had it but even then lot of guys were expecting a boxy SUV to come in soon from MB

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLB35 spy shots

Prototypes for the GLB have been spotted for a while and reveal that the vehicle will exhibit the more familiar two-box SUV shape, as opposed to the GLA's more hatchback-like form.

Our latest spy shots show what appears to be an AMG-tuned GLB, specifically a member of AMG's new 35 series.

Going forward, AMG will offer two levels of performance. One will be a direct replacement for the 45 series, while slotting under this will be a new crop of 35 series cars, the first of which is the A35 hatchback unveiled at the 2018 Paris auto show. An A35 sedan will make its debut shortly, and is bound for the United States. The GLB is also U.S.-bound, so we should see this GLB35 variant from AMG in local showrooms. A GLB45 is a safe bet, too.

We know this is the GLB35 because of its lowered ride height, enlarged openings in the lower fascia, and dual-tip exhaust system. The wheels and brakes are also bigger units than what's been used on prototypes for the regular GLB.

Like the recently revealed A35 hatchback, the GLB35 will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 making 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive will also be part of the package. This combination should result in 0-60 times of around 5.0 seconds.

Beyond the power boost, the GLB35 should also benefit from increased body rigidity and performance tuning of the transmission and all-wheel-drive system compared to the regular GLB on which it is based.

The new GLB should make its debut next spring. This GLB35 variant should trail it by about six months. Both are expected on sale in late 2019 as 2020 models.

As for the next 45 series cars, we hear they will come with eight-speed dual-clutch transmissions and over 400 hp (the outgoing 45 series cars come with 375 hp). There are also rumors that there will be both standard and extra spicy S variants, so AMG fans already spoiled for choice will have even more options to choose from.

Is This the 400 HP Mercedes-AMG GLB 45, Getting Ready to Take on the RS Q3?
Is This the 400 HP Mercedes-AMG GLB 45, Getting Ready to Take on the RS Q3?

If you think that large SUVs with track packages are ridiculous, know that Mercedes is probably making a 400 horsepower "sports SUV" out of a regular family crossover. We are, of course, talking about the GLB-Class. More specifically, the GLB 45 which we think has been spied here for the first time.

A couple of days ago, the GLB 35 was believed to be found, looking quite similar to this prototype. But because the grille is different and the location is halfway across Europe, we believe that this is the more hardcore GLB 45.

Before we get into the details that separate the two, let's look at why Mercedes-AMG might be looking to develop either of these models. The SUVsegment has witnessed unprecedented growth that isn't matched by any other type of car. And having pre most premium of the premium brands, Mercedes is ideally situated to make more profit than everybody else.

The GLB 35 is pretty easy. It's got a 2.0-liter turbo making almost the same power and torque as a Golf 7 R, which has been around for five years. On the other hand, 300 HP is not amazing when you consider you can get that from a P300 version of the Jaguar E-Pace.

Even though these vehicles started as family cars, there's a segment above the 300 HP mark where the Audi RS Q3 resides. And even though it's alone right now, we know Mercedes-AMG won't be able to resist making a rival wearing the GLB 45 nameplate.

We believe that's what we have here based on a couple of design elements. First, there's the obvious Panamericana grille, which Mercedes doesn't offer on the GLC 43 (as an example of mild AMG) or with the AMG Line body kit. It's exclusive to the "bad boys."

Also, the prototype seems a little lower, and its exhaust configuration is probably just for the early prototype stages. If this is indeed the GLB 45, it will be powered by a cool new hybrid 2.0-liter system which is expected to produce more than 400 HP in the most hardcore setup. The Evo of crossovers is more than a year away from coming out.
