my first reaction was that it looks quite garish.. i like the headlight shape and the grilles.. but just too much black in the bumper, if that middle section was body colour (maybe the inside grilles too?) would be so much better

I don't understand why they are lazy with the black package.

Same case on the new i7, the chrome grille option will put lines on the sensor to make it look like a full grille. But the black package just has exposed ugly sensor.

You say that and yet, what changed for G30 LCI over pre-LCI? Bumpers and lights, that’s all. Fundamentals to its fantastic proportions are identical.

It does not look bad, but does not give me surprise either. I do not really like the new design with too many lines. The facelift 3 series looks fantastic. Anyhow will need to see more photo with different angles to justify.
