X6 Spy pics: BMW X6 SAC (part 2).

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).
The design brief for the X6 included the guaranteed production model of the regular 5dr Sport Activity Coupe , But the board of directors wanted to see how a Coupe and a Cabrio would look and these made it to full size styling models . Whilst not guaranteed for production they are on "hold" at the moment meaning a decision will be made at a later date , The Concept is to whet peoples appetite and gage peoples reaction.

BMW are no strangers to a 4x4 cabrio having in the past developed a X5 based Z18 concept. Stranger things have happened....

Greetings from Frankfurt...

Glad to hear from you to, Scott27!

I can smell a new King of the BLING here!

:D:D:D:D

IMO 1er coupe / cabrio + X6 SAC will revolutionize BMW image again - especially in the US market. IMO also the other wealthy people & enthusiasts around the world won't be left cold by the ultimate bully coupe (X6) & BMW pocket rocket (135i).

Unfortunately, like in last few several years, it will be presented in one of the worst colors...:t-banghea

Why not some black or blue? Or even RED from the spypics we've seen?? Why always this ugly one...:t-banghea

:t-cheers:

Oh my..... :icondrool

Seems that CarMagazine wasn't too far...

No, not at all! The headlights are I think close to the same.

I like the real X6 better than that PS though. The hood for example looks more straight up and the whole bumper looks better.

This is the new 300c/Cayenne. All the pimps and hustlers are going to want one, I'm already in love. I want to put 23 inch 5 spoke rims on it. That car is going to be sick. MB had it's time in the spot light with the CLS and now it's time for BMW to shine with something wicked.

Ladie and Gentlemen, this is it:D
As you can see the front isn't identical to the X5. The headlights are more angular and aggressive. The only identical part is the hood.

Prepare to see the rest of the car. The proportions are beyond awsome!:usa7uh:

I'm still sure E70 X5 design actually derives from X6 , and not vice versa.

That X6 design idea as we see it now had existed before X5 winning design proposal was even conceived. So, Mr. Lecrerq used design cues from his X6 idea & mixed them with E53 proportions - to make an E70 X5.

X6 definitely looks more like an original design, and X5 as its derivate. And not vice versa.

Can somebody contact Mr. Leclerq to confirm that? :D

Too bad I'm not in Munich anymore, so I would've asked him:D
Why didn't ya come with this question a bit earlier man? Now I want to know it too:D
