Styling a car based on its platform doesn’t mean make it look like an ugly blob. The NA0 looks great because you can clearly see the Neue Klasse design language was made for that platform, the G84 is what looks awkward.It didn't work out for Mercedes with their EQ. So why would BMW shed fire to its own strategy which worked brilliantly so far? People buy a 5 Series because it looks the same no matter the drivetrain. They are not interested in so-called futuristic blobfish stylings.

A long bonnet has the ability to make every car look great. The importance of proportions, literally.Quite difficult to tell NA0 and G50 apart, except the front overhang, higher bonnet line and the greenhouse line towards the back door. It looks better on the G50 with vastly reduced front overhang and typical beautiful BMW proportions.
