X5 [Spy Shots] Next Gen BMW X5 (G65) and iX5 - coming in 2027?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
But as an industry, I don't think the Japanese ever copied to the extent the Koreans and Chinese have. Not that I can recall.

Because the Japanese, unlike the Chinese, are alligned with western rules and laws for the most part, so they can't simply copy stuff without the backlash.
The Chinese simply don't care about any of that.

Part of the dawn of a new world order, I suppose. Those possesssing might, geopolitical, economic, etc., can call the shots as they please-with impunity. The mindset is that those who are firmly anchored in the concept of rules, regulations and laws are there to be exploited. Ruthless, hardball Machiavellianism.

Would make for a fascinating conversation.
But just so we keep it on topic, if the X5 comes out looking like that, it would be a smash for BMW.

How will a heavily revised GLE compete with an all-new, from-the-ground-up X5? Mercedes has a battle ahead for the next five years, until the all-new generations come out.

I suspect the GLE and GLS are going to have the hardest time.

BMW will be rolling out brand-new from-the-ground-up vehicles, that, if they wear this promising 'Neu' design language as well as renders suggest, will be highly desirable vehicles.

I just hope they don't get MPV-bloody-inspired interiors, which seems to be all the rage for BMW and their X models at the moment.

I thought the next ICE X5 and X7 will be heavily revised versions of the current platform, but with the Neue Klasse styling? The iX5 is the new ground up platform, or am I totally off the radar? Lol

You're right except for the iX5, which just is an EV X5 and not on a different platform. It's all CLAR ++
MB and BMW are essentially doing the same with the X5 and GLE, with the difference being that BMW is going all out; new interior, new exterior, all new OS, EV versions...

But for the record.....BMW will call it an all new version of the X5, just like for them the 5er is an 'all new version' with its own product code and whatnot.

iX3 is the all new platform, to be presented in a few months.

So the X5 and X7 will not be all new platforms capable of both ICE and EV derivatives?
