6 Series [Spyshots] 2015 BMW 6 series LCI

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé. The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series (E31). When the 6 Series nameplate was revived in 2004 for the second generation, the BMW E63/E64 6 Series, the coupé was joined by a convertible body style. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series (G15) nameplate. The fourth generation 6 Series, the G32 6 Series, debuted in mid-2017 and is offered only as a fastback body style to complement the BMW 5 Series (G30) sedan/wagon.

2015 BMW 6-series coupe facelift spied almost undisguised

The BMW 6-series is set to receive its mid-cycle facelift for the 2015 model year and we are able to show you the latest shots of a production prototype after our spies caught one doing its latest round of testing.

The lovely red livery seen here on the coupe version is completed with minimal disguise around the taillights, headlights, front bumper and front three-quarter panels. Evidently, exterior changes will be subtle with a tweaked front bumper and modified lights on both the front and the rear.

The cabin is also expected to receive some minor updates while the engine line-up is set to remain untouched.

Expect to see the official unveiling of the facelifted BMW 6-series in both Coupe and Gran Coupe body styles at the Geneva Motor Show next year.

Not overly much looking at those pics ;)

I hope they ditch the LED strips on the facelift. Something more tasteful please BMW!

In the rear the new three dimensional L shape LED is found within the headlights.

Are you saying that the 6er will now be FWD?
...or is BMW finally taking care of the drifters?
Either way it's more of a revolution if you ask me!
Fcuk the S-Class with its world firsts!

Yet all LCI looked still better for me than the Pre-LCI. I'm sure this will be the case too with this LCI.
BMW accomplished it again and again to make a very good looking car with minimal changes to a still better looking car.
With one exception (for me): LCI with the E39:

The headlights with the Pre-LCI is looking better for my gusto.

^no way, the LCI E39 look so much fresher, turning something from the 90's to something for after the millenium.

i also don't quite get why BMW do all those funny things with the 6er third brake light. That huge strip across the top on the GC is spectacular, but ridiculous, and why put it on the boot on the coupe? it was the previous Mercedes thing (kind of), but i see no reason why they can't just leave the 6er alone, and put the third brake light where it should be - on the top of the rear windscreen with a normal length.

^My statement based only of my personal subjective impressions and should not understand as an absolute statement. :)

BMW M6 facelift spied for the first time
Appears to feature minor styling changes
BMW is preparing a minor facelift for the 6-Series Coupe, Convertible and GranCoupe so it comes as little surprise the M6 is also going under the knife.

Recently caught undergoing testing, the facelifted M6 Coupe has a familiar design but features a host of minor modifications. The camouflage hides of lot of detail but it suggests the car will have a new front bumper and revised head- and taillights.

Power will likely be provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that develops at least 560 PS (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the current model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) or 305 km/h (189 mph) with the M Driver's Package.

Yes, it is possible. There is modern software that allows for covered elements to be painted in giving a seamless transition. Some elements involve techniques from the film industry using green and blue screen with the car in a studio and the background photographed separately then composited in the final shot. You can't beat being on location and again you are creating publicity when you are spotted. The usual issues with location photography also affect the business of marketing a car such as light conditions , intrusive spy photographers and location traffic - delays not only cost money but also tempers which is why people go a little crazy.

Bimmertoday.de says the LCI 6 series will be available with Sport and Luxury Line.
The sale starts in March '15.

BMW 6-Series Coupe facelift spied hiding revised dashboard

Features a new display, could be bigger
The BMW 6-Series Coupe facelift has returned in a new set of spy images and this time we get the privilege to view the interior cabin.

So far we have seen only the exterior of the facelifted BMW 6-Series Coupe, GranCoupe and M6 Coupe and now there's a spy pic of the interior which judging by the extensive disguise appears to carry quite a few changes. Our sources say the touchscreen display has grown in size and chances are the buttons and knobs will be altered as well.

There's not much to talk about in terms of exterior cosmetic tweaks as the modifications will be limited to the front bumper, headlight/taillight clusters. It’s the same story underneath the hood where the engines will likely be carried over, all the way up to the twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter inside the M6 models where it churns 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft).

An official reveal is expected at a major auto show in 2015, with sales starting before the end of the year.
