C-Class [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet (C205)

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.

Mercedes C-Class Cabrio gets rendered
Mercedes is putting the finishing touches on the C-Class Cabrio so our artists have created a rendering of what the car could look like.

Drawing inspiration from previous spy photos, the picture depicts a stylish convertible with a familiar front fascia. Bigger changes occur aft of the A-pillar as the model adopts door-mounted mirrors, a retractable roof and a revised rear end.

Mercedes has been relatively tight-lipped about the C-Class Cabrio but previously reports have suggested it could be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Engine options also remain unconfirmed but they are largely expected to carryover from the sedan. As a result, there should be a variety of familiar petrol and diesel units including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 bhp (179 kW) and a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW).

It´s going to be a very good looking car, no doubt about it. But I can´t stand why they design it to look so similar to other MBs. It´s the C-Class front end with the S-Coupe side profile and rear end. With door handles in the shoulder line.

I wish it had its own personality.

I expect the same diferentiation that offers an A5 compared to the A4, the 4er compared to the 3er.

You are fine with it? Cool.

From the A-pillar to the rear, the car will be completely different of the w205, character line, roofline, glasshouse, rearlight shape...

The 4-series is certainly less unique when compared to the 3-series.

New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe: Honig, I Shrunk The S-Class Coupe

Good news if you like the appearance of Mercedes-Benz's S-Class Coupe, but dislike the pricing, as the new C-Class Coupe will mimic its bigger brother's styling on a smaller, but also way more affordable, package.
we spotted back in April.

The undisguised front end reveals a similar face to the C-Class sedan, which itself, shares a family resemblance with the S-Class, though the hood on the Coupe appears slightly flatter and more elongated while the headlamps seem to stretch back more.

The C-Class Coupe's profile, sloping roofline and rear end are all heavily influenced by the S-Class Coupe.

Since it's based on the C-Class sedan, it will have a similar interior, albeit with a four-seat layout, and engine range of four and six-cylinder petrol and four-cylinder diesel engines (at least in Europe) for the regular models, and a turbocharged 4.0L V8 for the C63 AMG available in two guises, with 470hp (476PS) and 503hp (510PS) for the 'S'.

Depending on the version, the Coupe will get updated 7-speed or new 9-speed automatic transmissions, with Merc's 4Matic four-wheel drive system to be offered on numerous models as an option.

Stuttgart's answer to the Audi A5 Coupe, BMW 4-Series, Cadillac ATS Coupe and Lexus RC, will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall and start rolling into dealerships towards the end of the year, early 2016. Aconvertible version with a retractable cloth top will be presented next year.

Hmm...I'll reserve judgement until I see the actual car. Right now it just looks like they pasted the S-coupe rear to the C-sedan front. Not bad, but it's not original, either. BMW does a good job with their 4-er in that it looks different enough from the sedan variant. I just don't see that here in these 'spy' photos.

Normally red is not part of my favourite car colours. But this hyacinth red looks really good. And in real life still much more. :)
