S-Class W222 [Spyshots] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222) Facelift Spy Pics & Info

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class produced from 2013 to 2020, serving as the successor to the W221 S-Class and predecessor to the W223 S-Class. The W222 has a similar design theme to the C-Class (W205) and E-Class (W213).

The grill and Sport Package look huge in the video.
I cannot wait for the live pics. I think it will look great with a new level of sport added to the design work.
I still can't see any difference in design and size of the new grill compare to the pre face lift one.

Lots of people complained about its location. They just couldn't find it without looking for it. Not to mention the adjustment for distance on its tip.
interesting how they changed the design in w222 that has roots from w126! Then they find new complaints poured in and change again
they should have studied what happened with the "New Coke".

A little comparison :

I'm feeling that this is a new color going to be intruduced .... chrome silver or something.

By the way i got the word from a trusted guy at the sales that the new S class will be S450 and S560, they started taking orders from now and delivery will be at 8/2017, remember the delivery dates is for middle east :)

The new A8 is going to have to be absolutely spectacular if it has any hope of worrying this magnificent vehicle.

I had my reservations but it looks like they've executed the revised front end perfectly.

Not sure about the smoked out rear lights. Unless they're still camouflaged?

Actually, it was a chrome 'bedazzled' wrap for dramatic effect. I wasn't especting MB to wrap a car in a gaudy color, usually press reveal cars are painted Alubeam or a variation of gray or white.

Is the s450 a v6 or in line 6 for the middle east market?

And even if the droplets of condensation emitted from the new Audi A8s' exhaust pipes are Roederer Cristal, it will be able to to present formidable competition at the very best, but nothing in terms of sustainable invincibility (in terms of global unit sales). In this segment of the market, I suspect that the W222 + derivatives, despite it being well into its' model cycle, will maintain its' stranglehold. So immense is its' brand equity. And come 2020, we should be seeing the first clear indications of what the W223 will have in store for a discerning clientele.

Personally, I very much like the luxury segment Audis and were I "in the market" in this particular stratosphere of automobiledom, I could be inclined to give an S8 the nod. But that's just me. Most others appear to be of a different opinion. But hey, that's cool.

@Jimmy, respect for the way you master the English language, for being a non-native speaker. Aus Bayern, if I am not mistaking.

This kind of stranglehold does remind me of the W126, which also lead the market for many years, even after being on that market for 6 years and more. Only serious contender in those days was for a few years BMW's E38.
Besides, I think the W222 will be in production for at least 8 years (2021), if not longer.

You're Bavarian?!! I thought you were a highly educated Brit or American!

W223 i meant(y)

I'm still not sure how they are pitching the EQ brand. The life of IC engines is probably next 20-30 years. So if there is an equivalent EQ version, what would happen to the S class brand when the engines eventually gets phased out?
