SL-Class [Spyshots] 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R231) Facelift

The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (marketed as Mercedes-AMG SL since 2022) is a grand touring sports car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 1954. The designation "SL" derives from the German term "Sport-Leicht", which translates to "Sport Light" in English.
I just heard a rumour that the SL might be getting this grille....

Looks like a diamond grille, wonder what grille the AMG version will have though ?

edit; Well, this is the AMG - can't see it there either.

That looks good, but unless they trimmed some of the overhang the side profile is still going to be hosed.

I still think we're going to have to wait until the next generation to get a truly good looking SL again. Even with this facelift, it will still look like just that, a facelift. This is the missing link at the top of MB's range. Hopefully we get to see the SLC also.

Looks better for sure with much slimmer lights, the lights remind me of those on the S-class Coupe, although the grill is quite a bit different. Also the AMG GT front is included as a comparison.

Just yesterday I saw a SL63 and still find it quite good looking, but I always liked it. Btw. Autobild writes that the interior should be similar to the S class and SL 500 should get the new 4,0V8 with 462 PS. Autozeitung writes the same about the engine, but AMS says that there will be no change under the bonnet but calls the new grill panamericana.

It seems the days of the old V8 are numbered now. The S500 and the S500 Coupe will probably get the new one the next year as well.

U mean the v8 from the c63 and amg GT? That will be something interesting if they bring that engine across the whole merc 500 lineup
