Why that lying, fat bastard!
He bumped into Scott, can't blame him really

I just love the way Steve Sutcliff compares cars!!! So it was a close call but he chose the C63 by a fraction cause of its engine, steering and character!! AMG knows how to produce great turbo engines, the 5.5 V8 is a case example in the E63 AMG and I am sure they will produce another fantastic one in the new 4.0 V8 as it is also due to go into the GT AMG as well!!
lool it lost against the C63 which is about to be changed in a couple of weeks..
I take it M4 would lose against M3 E92 as well. Thats the impression I get when I hear Steve in this review.lool it lost against the C63 which is about to be changed in a couple of weeks..

The C63 AMG already had far better steering feel than the E92 M3. I didn't get at all excited by the glassy feel of my favourite car's helm.
As for AMG doing bi-turbocharging well, you can't argue with that; they just do. The only thing to see is whether AMG will be able to liberate more engine RPM and whether they'll still fit the outdated MCT (which is not a bloody dual clutch transmission as you suggest, Steve) to the new C63 AMG.
At the end of it all, nothing much will change. You'll have the very good M3/M4 from BMW and the equally good C63 AMG from Mercedes Benz and along with this all you'll still have the Internet fanboys arguing into a frenzy as to why one is way better than the other. Some things change and others stay the same.
^I am not a big fan of the way AMG turbo V8s sound. It is just big rumbling exhaust noise. I like to hear induction noise and wale of a high revving engine. Yes, the AMG turbos have better sounding exhaust stock than the M ones in that very limited sense, but the exhaust noise is easily fixed. Beyond the exhaust noise, I think I will find the higher revving nature of M turbo engines more satisfying. But purely speculation because I haven't experienced any of them.
As for steering, yes, it is disappointing if it sucks. I guess again a by product of electrical steering in the new car but by most accounts it is better than previous ones which was hydraulic.

The philosphy of M products which you all ( read bmw fans) loved so much has shifted towards what was traditionally AMG territory..while AMG has shifted towards what was once Ms forte.
Im not a fan either, but as far as turbo engines go on this side of hyper cars i still think its the best sound. But obviously it has nothing on NA engines, which i think AMG did better than M when it came to sound on NAs..
Now is it really that easy to fix? i have not heard a Aftermarket exahust for the M5 that sounds great..and its turbo..and been out for a while.
When you say high revving do you mean the 1000 rpm more than AMGs cause it is 6500 vs 7500 rpm right?
its not excuse anymore that its electrical steering, when it has been perfected in other cars like the GT3.
Its like the excuse of break regeneration on these hybrid hyper cars.. Mclaren claimed you cant have a good break feel with that system so they went hydraulic.. while Ferrari just proved it can be done..hence one of the reasons of p1 running out of juice way before the lafer..
[/QUOTE]Akrapovic exhaust for both 1M and M5 sound good as far exhaust sounds go and in fact even sounds a bit like a high revving engine than a rumbling V8. Even new M3/M4 stock exhaust sounds good from what I can make of Youtube videos when reved just not at idle or low revs. Link.
I am not just talking redline. I am talking power delivery at upper end. M157 runs out of steam little above 5k vs S63Tu stays strong till a good 7K. http://www.germancarforum.com/commu...pp-w212-speed-battle.48300/page-4#post-623483
And most reviewers say it is not as good as the hydraulic one in previous GT3. While they say steering in this M3 is better than the one in previous M3.
Not to go OT, but do you have substantial proof to back "p1 running out of juice way before the lafer.."? if you do, I would be very interested to read it, post in the hypercar comparison thread.
The last m3s steering was not much to write home about..
