WRX 2014 Subaru WRX

The Subaru WRX is an all-wheel drive sport compact car manufactured by the Subaru, originally based on the Impreza created for the World Rally Championship in 1992. Subaru claimed the name WRX stands for "World Rally eXperimental". Starting with the 2015 models, the WRX lineup has been split from the Impreza, with a different body style that is not offered as an optional hatchback/wagon, being introduced as the separate Levorg model.

Ha! If it ends up looking anything remotely like that I'll eat my WRX STI hat! Front overhang is waaay to short to house a Boxer engine ahead of the front axle in there. Unless they've embarked upon a fundamental shift in mechanical packaging.

That said, it does look rather terrific. Looks like I may have to hang on to the old girl for a while longer.

I think it's bloody stunning! Even has that 'muscle car' feel to it that we so much crave. (y)

OMG they have to build this as it is, maybe raise the roof a little just for practicality, but this would be big winner for them.

M

OMG!!! This car is so perfect!!!

Mercedes CLA AMG, Audi RS3 Sedan, BMW M2 GranCoupé = GAME OVER (not really, but just my emotions)

They have to build it exactly like this. Low, wide, extremly short overhangs, and get a good (functional) interior. I think I have found my new favorite. Short time of love for the S3 Sedan. Well at least the german one is close to the concept and now exists, I hope the WRX will also stay close to concept.

Take a chill pill. It won't look anything like that and happily Subaru doesn't listen to fanboys, because even they know how full of shit fanboys are.

Before there were rumors that Subaru was going to benchmark the M3 with the next generation WRX. Looks like that actually was true. WRX concept looks like fulfilling most demands as possible (performance, handling, traction, practicality, style, etc.).

Yes, and it is because Mercedes doesn't listen to fanboys that their currents cars looks ugly as hell: SLK, SL, CLA, A Class, A Class. And you also better take a chill pill, because next 7 Series will murder the new S Class.

A more appropriate name for this forum would be "German Car Fans".

Looks good, but remember it is a concept, bet my ass it will be watered down. Which is good I like my WRX more sublime and as a wagon. Maybe for a STI, but keep WRX more down to earth.

You definitely need to take chill a pill, because I haven't got a clue what are you implying.

Oh and btw, take a chill pill because you're the only one giving too much shit about a car that hasn't been launched and you damn well know it won't look anything like the concept.

Looks at this thread: http://germancarforum.com/community/threads/official-mercedes-benz-concept-style-coupe.44176/

It seems I havn't posted anything, but I like the car very much and had the same thoughts as now about the WRX. Look at the other comments by BMW and Audi fans, all very positive, and now look at the hate. That is nothing new. It is normal to get excited at a concept that prefigures a future model. Then comes the question to what extent will the production car disappoint. The A3 Sedan hasn't. The CLA has. The BRZ has (not too grave but still). Now I wish the WRX will disappoint the least possible, as the concept looks perfect to me (considering impossibility of mirrors, lights and door handles).

You officially creeped me out. You're like one of those obsessed ex-girlfriends that you break up and one year later she still harassing you for breaking up with her.

Ok as concept cars go, it looks terrific. As a Subaru concept car it's impossibly nice. Too good to be true. It will be watered down for production. No question. I doubt the proportions; the front overhang is too short to accommodate a Boxer engine and AWD in its currently packaged engineering. The roofline won't be as low and the glasshouse won't be a shallow.

I hope that they get it as close as dammit to this though. Remarkable design effort from the serial purveyors of fugly.

So good looking. This car, if built as intended and as good looking with worthy interior, might be a threat to the M2 and M3/M4.
