WRX 2014 Subaru WRX

The Subaru WRX is an all-wheel drive sport compact car manufactured by the Subaru, originally based on the Impreza created for the World Rally Championship in 1992. Subaru claimed the name WRX stands for "World Rally eXperimental". Starting with the 2015 models, the WRX lineup has been split from the Impreza, with a different body style that is not offered as an optional hatchback/wagon, being introduced as the separate Levorg model.

For some strange (or obvious?) reasons, like the 987 was used when the BRZ was tested, now the 991 is used for the the WRX.

That isn't bad, but it looks NOTHING like the concept. What was the point of that stunning concept????

WRX was never going to look like the concept. But only true Subaristi - so accustomed to the trough of disillusionment - would foresee this.

Well most of cars have ultra-cool concepts and after that they make "softened" production version.

Subaru were making noises about how this generation of the WRX will be more unique than the standard model, and it will have its own unique body panels. It was suppose to be a stand alone model and the concept car supported that idea, so it is a massive disappointment when Subaru decided to stick with the old WRX formula. Also, it has been a long time since Subaru has produced anything that is close to looking attractive so we thought Subaru has finally found their new design theme.

Is this a real picture or a photochop? Looks nothing like the concept.
Looking at the latest photos and comparing it back to the photos of the prototype...I think it is the real deal. Like I have said previously, very disappointing but not surprising, the concept looks too good to put a Subaru badge on. Just wondering why did they pick red instead of their famous blue with gold rims.

Maybe it will look better in the metal, yeah, so much for hyping it up as a unique stand alone model line with significantly different body styling. I can see most of the body panels are unique to the WRX, but the over all result is still underwhelming.

I hope they make a 5 door. I have really developed a strong liking for the new Impreza hatchback. I even like the Crosstrek thing.
