I don't get it why some of you are "in shock" for the rear end. This is the design language right now .

It’s amazing how they managed to make such a giant car look so sleek and stately from the rear. And the greenhouse has a very classic-BMW look. I also find it amazing how people think it’s not bold enough, when 5 years ago everyone would be criticising it for being not conservative enough. I get it-the industry is changing and so are customer tastes, and that is OK. But, can we really blame the new 7er for not having a lot going on at rear? Luxury sedans are meant to exude confidence. The best way to achieve that is to try to make a bold design without having to resort to using eye-catching lines, but rahter letting the elegant proportions speak for themselves. And the new 7 certainly pulled that off at the rear.

The designers are taking minimalism to a new level by making top-end cars look "less"
The rear is nice and clean but somehow it undercuts the impression of a top-end luxury car. You could fit this on a 5-Series quite easily and call it a day.

Save for the placement of the reverse light, I like the clean look of the rear end. I wouldn't mind a little bit of aggression and character but it's not terrible.
