Very good. The grandstand where we were at was packed. I imagine that there were very few open seats in any of the main grandstands.
What's also very nice is the accessibility and space management. Despite the thousands of visitors, we hardly ever queued (except for the insanely uncontrolled pit lane walk) and getting in and out of the venue works well. A fixture I highly recommend - if you can tolerate the heat.
Bahrain has a comparatively small attendance for an F1 circuit. I know it's not a massive venue, but on race day it sees 37,000 people - for comparison there's 160,000+ at Silverstone, which in terms of footprint is only about 25% bigger than Bahrain. On the ground that would make Bahrain seem only a little less busy than the biggest BTCC races (Oulton Park is generally the highest attended), which are certainly more tolerable (to me), than the absolute cattle market the Silverstone is.
... not sure I'd like the heat though. Hottest I've had at Silverstone was 27°C with no shelter. F that, I hate hot weather.
I’ve managed to chose the worst F1 race in a long time, to go to.
Dull racing aside, how was Suzuka? I've not been, but it's on my to-do list (SuperGT probably).
