BMW - YTD - 97,704
MB - YTD - 94,120

BMW leading by 3584 units.

Mercedes has botched the rollout of the GLE, A-Class sales are soft and everything else (except the G) was down last month. BMW has a new 3 and X7 to give them a slight edge so far. BMW looks in far better shape going into the spring/summer selling season.

It's better to get the quality right on the GLE than rush them out the door and face debacles like BMW did with the X5.

Bloomberg's article is quite sensationalist.

BMW was able to further increase its US sales in May 2019 and thus also extend its lead over pursuit of Mercedes - albeit only marginally,

Because apart from 29 units, the two German premium providers sold virtually an identical quantity of vehicles: 27,109 BMW stands at 27,080 Mercedes Benz opposite. Audi remains at a distance of 18,892 units.

At BMW, the new 3 Series G20 slowly but surely picks up speed, with 4,364 units, the sedan was just behind the X3, the best-selling series. However, this value also shows the strength of the BMW X3, which contributes decisively to the performance of the brand and clearly meets the taste of the Americans excellently. Together with X1 and X2, the X models account for 56 percent of May sales in the US.

The nerve of the target group also seems to be the BMW X7, which was sold 2,123 times in May, making it more successful than X1 and X2 combined. About four-digit sales in the US were also allowed to enjoy the X5 and 4, 5 and 7 Series. At MINI, only the Countryman manage to jump into the four-digit range.

Since the beginning of the year, BMW has come up with a US discount of 124,813 units, an increase of 0.7 percent. At 121,200 units, Mercedes-Benzis 8.3 percent down on the same period last year and could lose the domestic German duel for the American premium crown for the first time in years. With 82,031 units and a decline of 7.3 percent, Audi is just a spectator.

From what I hear, MB is having major issues with getting GLEs out of the port. VERY strange issues too...

The i8 did very well almost as much as the 8 series coupe
The sedans excellent against what the market dictates
I see that the problem beyond the big increase in sales were the X1 and X2 only three X1 sold ?? if we know that the LCI comes but the previous ones were exhausted? There was no production? I never saw such a marked decline, it must be a lack of production issue as with the X2, does anyone know what happened?

Audi, however , the US market remains difficult. In June sales fell by 0.3 percent to 19,409 cars. After six months, there is a fall of six percent. The sports car manufacturer Porsche , which also belongs to the VW Group, increased its sales last month by a clear 6.4 percent to 5205 vehicles. BMW was due to the large demand for new urban SUV going 31,627 cars of its common brand - an increase of strong 7.5 percent.

Mercedes sells five more cars
Daimler
was hardly able to grow sales of Mercedes in the US in June. From the master brand sold the Stuttgart 26,196 vehicles, as the company announced at the US headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. That was only five cars more than a year ago. Mercedes-Benz has had a difficult run in the US so far this year, with a minus of 7.2 percent after six months. Including the small car brand Smart and the Vans Daimler was able to grow slightly in June, but in the current annual balance sheet is about as much in the minus as in the core brand.
