7 Series [Official] 2019 BMW 7 series LCI

The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan. The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.
I am certainly curious as to what BMW has in store for the G11/12 successors. Presentation in the latter half of 2022 ? Design-wise, the new 4 series is looking quite exciting under the swirly-foil (and especially in Concept i4 form). Will "The 7" follow its' cue ?

The truth that excites the fact that it will change radically within the usual, seeing the direction that they have been taking with other models, I think we can expect the more rectilinear sections of the C-pillar and Kink as in the VFL, 4 series, etc., since they are also being rounded and very similar for 4 generations, or it will be a total break as between the 8 series and the previous 6 ...., beautiful times are coming

I'm hoping that BMW designers will pull something out of their hats that will make the (in my eyes) ungainly 8 series GCs' redundant. A sharp, svelte rakish SWB version of the upcoming 7er successor, for example. I'm sensing that BMW is beginning to find its' way again in terms of exterior design and have high expectations for the 4 series. Hoping not to be disappointed, I'd be pleased if they could maintain the momentum.

They always said it was like that to satisfy Chinese tastes but I think Xi Jinping exaggerated doing this

I think that at the end of its life cycle the G11/12 will be behind the F01/02, E65/66, E38 and even behind the E32 when concerning total sales numbers.

Thought I'd quote you in this thread to avoid cluttering up the Mercedes thread.

So far, the F01 and G11 generations are the only models to crack 60,000 a year, both did so for the first two full years of sales. Previous 7 series' did not manage to break 60k at all. The G11/12 has fallen to similar levels in it's fourth full year as everything back to the E32 (i.e. about 50,000 units).

Under normal circumstances, it would take a massive drop off in Y5, 6 & 7 for the G11 to fall behind the E65 (and older). Covid-19 might represent part of that drop off, but we'll have to see how it recovers.

This is the general lifecycle for the 7-series based on yearly sales, the final/first years always overlap numbers wise, so this is designed to show the overall trend...

If the G11 trended down now as the rest have, it's still going to have those extra early sales to keep it above the older models... the question will be Covid Impact.
