Taycan [Official] Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is a battery electric luxury sports sedan and shooting brake car produced by Porsche.
I hope my battery is faulty and I get the new one from facelift, haha

"LG-made battery coming from its Polish factory". Imagine if the battery supplier was Northvolt.
Europeans need some Chinese engineers to show them how to make good batteries.

It has not stopped the facelifted Taycan selling extremely well in Germany last month again, marking an 11.2% increase over last year's sales and being the best selling vehicle in it's market segment (that includes ICEs), in a generally still very depressed market for BEVs in Germany.

"In the mini car segment, the Toyota Aygo was the most registered model, in the small car segment it was the MINI, in the compact class it was the VW Golf and in the luxury class it was the Porsche Taycan."

That is odd

The only thing that is odd is that article. This is really old news. My recall was performed a long time ago. It even talks about Taycans "built in the U.S.", yet the Taycan isn't built in the U.S. Are all articles just created by AI now?

If 1st of October is "really old news"....

Maybe the issue is still there , and this is another recall. The article is legit , and it is according to NHTSA.

As I have shown above, this trend seems to be reversing in Germany at least and the reason would appear to be the model change.

Indeed, the model change will have played a significant role. Especially in light of the advanced praise in the automotive media that heightened the excitement regarding the presentation of the J1.2 Taycan. And apparently, that excitement appears to have been warranted. The J1.2 is generally perceived to be a far more advanced, far better automobile than its J1 predecessor, despite their almost identical visual appearances.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT certainly doesn’t hold back when it comes to breaking records. After setting records at both the Nürburgring Nordschleife and California’s Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Taycan Turbo GT, equipped with the Weissach package, has now conquered the 5.4 kilometre Shanghai International Circuit. With Porsche development driver Lars Kern at the helm, it posted a stunning record lap time of 2:11.28 minutes.

It was just a question of time, yesterday the FL Taycan GTS was re-introduced to the model range.

Rather interesting. Road & Track have declared the Taycan Turbo GT the best performance EV above $ 100,000.

"Despite that wicked speed on the straights, the Lucid can’t hang with the Taycan in the corners. In compensation, it rides better, has a roomy rear seat, and does everything else near perfectly. For some buyers in the tough $250,000 all-electric market segment, the Lucid will be more attractive than the Porsche. “The Lucid Air may be a better Tesla,” Farah declared, “but it’s not a better Porsche.”

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT (Lap Time: 1:33.0): The 1019-hp Taycan Turbo GT may not be the best car in the world, but, irrespective of electric or combustion powertrains, it’s on the short list.

(…)

The Turbo GT sticks in corners that cow lesser machines and delivers glorious feedback to the driver. The only factory Porsches with more power raced in the Can-Am series. That it’s all-electric is incidental to its excellence. “All the other cars are playing checkers,” Baime concluded. “And the Porsche is playing chess.” It’s grandmaster-level awesome. Fearless leader Pund said, “It’s absolutely bonkers. Like ‘I can’t believe they sell this to the public’ bonkers.”"

Not too long ago, I drove a Taycan GTS around Kyalami and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience.
Impressive mid-corner grip, great traction upon corner exit allied to a substantial slug of thrust. After the GT3 RS (capt. obvs) my favourite experience on the day.

I can only imagine how impressive a Taycan Turbo GT might be.

And how quickly it will deplete your pockets in tyres that cost £4000 a set after a few laps.

But to be 3 secs a lap faster than a cup 2 R around a 2 min track was always never gonna come cheap.
