X5 [Spy Shots] Next Gen BMW X5 (G65) and iX5 - coming in 2027?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Whoever supplies their prototype wheels using an Audi 5-spoke design
Thank god I wasn’t the only one that noticed it.

proportions look good.. but slightly worried how the front end will come across, with how high yet thin those headlights are mounted.

The forthcoming 2026 BMW X5 Range Extender pairs a battery-electric drivetrain with a compact petrol generator to deliver continent-crossing reach without charging anxiety. BMW says the newcomer, developed with long-standing partner ZF, will run well beyond 600 miles before a brief refuel tops the tank and restores the pack, giving drivers the silent surge of an EV and the back-up of a combustion engine in one seamless package.

Or......you can just drive a 40d, enjoy better range, lower financing rates, no charging and other benefits.

Or, if you don't want to drive for seven hours without a stop (like the vast majority of people), drive an iX5 and charge at home, pay much less per mile, have a smoother drivetrain, not pump fumes into the atmosphere, and never have to go to a filling station or touch a dirty diesel pump again.

I drove Holland to Surrey last night in the Macan Turbo EV. A complete hassle-free journey which cost me half of what it would have done in an X5 diesel. Just one stop to charge (15 mins), which is more than compensated by many minutes I save every month by charging at home and not a filling station.
