6 Series [Spyshots] 2015 BMW 6 series LCI

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé. The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series (E31). When the 6 Series nameplate was revived in 2004 for the second generation, the BMW E63/E64 6 Series, the coupé was joined by a convertible body style. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series (G15) nameplate. The fourth generation 6 Series, the G32 6 Series, debuted in mid-2017 and is offered only as a fastback body style to complement the BMW 5 Series (G30) sedan/wagon.

2015 BMW F12 Convertible Facelift Spotted Testing for the First Time

BMW introduced the third iteration of the 6 Series to the wide audience in 2011, at the Shanghai Auto Show, as a 2012 model. Since next year the current models turn 4, a facelift is due, in pure BMW fashion.
Called Life Cycle Impulse in Munich, the update will probably bring small design changes but bigger technical ones. Looking at the spyshots, we noticed that most visual changes will take place around the front fascia and round the back.

Up front, the headlights might get a slightly different shape and so can the bumper while the rear bumper will most likely stay the same, with the only changes over here being focused on the taillights that will probably get LED L strips as standard.

Inside, the new iDrive will be introduced, with the touch-sensitive controller as well as new active and passive safety features like lane departure warnings and auto-breaking functions. As far as the engine line-up goes, little differences are expected.

First of all, the entire line-up will run on EU6 compliant units. In the US, the same model range will be kept, focused on the 640i and 650i versions, with or without xDrive. Of course, there’s also the M6 Convertible but that’s the most expensive car BMW has to offer at the moment in the US, excepting the non-conventional i8, with a starting price $118,200 MSRP.

Expect the Coupe to be done in the same manner, as it too has an LCI coming next year. We could actually see the two unveiled at Geneva, at the latest. The end of production for the current 6 Series range is scheduled for October 2018.

I think it is really difficult job to update the exterior of 6-series, it is already so good-looking pre-FL.

Another subtle re freshening for the 6er. Slightly altered headlights with a slight re-profile around the lower outline.
The indicators are still below but the glass is darker kind of like the concept.
There is additional air breathers added to the front bumper which gets a slight re-profile.
Side indicators move to the mirrors. In the rear the new three dimensional L shape LED is found within the headlights.
In the interior there will be new upholstery and trim options with further exclusivity provided by BMW Individual packages. Some new engine options will be available as will be the first 650d.
The car will be announced in the first quarter of next year.

Is the 6er really going to be the one to debut the updated headlight graphics? Thought they might wait for the 7er.

Then again, didn't the 6er debut the current premium LED look?

New wheel design?? ....Palbay gets around these days...Monaco..... :)

Nice looking wheels on the red cabriolet. Not unsimilar in design to those offered by Porsche for their Boxster/Cayman and 991 Carrera series.
