3 Series [Spyshots] BMW 3 Series Facelift

The BMW 3 series is a line of compact executive cars manufactured by the German automaker BMW since May 1975. BMW's best selling model, it is the successor to the 02 series. Since 2013, the coupé and convertible models have been marketed as the 4 Series. The M version of the 3 series, the M3, debuted with the E30 M3 in 1986.
326 PS is quite weak IMO...
Never underestimate BMW engines, the 326PS may sound weaker than rival engines (Mercedes and Audi engines produce 333PS), but in the real world they normally perform better. One good example I can remember is when BMW replaced the 2.5 192PS straight six engine in the E36 325i with the 193PS 2.8ltr straight six for the 328i. The only 1PS more powerful 328i was nearly 1 sec quicker from 0-100kmh than the 325i and it also was much faster than the more powerful rival engines in the Mercedes C280 (197PS) and Audi A4 (193PS)!

So
@vampyren the greater the issue, the less BMW pretends to know about it. That is my personal experience from BMW group ownership for the last six years.

They know they fracked up but they also know that if this is confirmed, BMW will have to pay for the recurring design/construction flaws.

Sadly its very much so.
i went to 2 big cities and asked for their main repair guys and asked about the issue and they totally denied it. They lost all credibility in the first minute. One guy tried to play dum and said the things you read on internet you cant believe in and even when i told him the issue has been on BBC news he continues to play along the charade.
The funny thing was i knew more about the engines then they did and i'm pretty bad with cars :nailbiting:

the problem with timing chain
Didn't know BMW also has motor related issues. I know VW/Audi have a huge problem with their 4 cylinder TFSI and Mercedes-Benz has had (and still does) his problems with the 4 cylinder Diesel (OM651). What's going on with our German friends? All three big players suffer from it and all three are often in denial-modus.

Its a bit offtopic (sorry for that) but yes there are tons of articles and videos on the issue if you search for it, the faulty engine is N47.

I'm really looking forward to the new model, right now i'm comparing this with the existing 5 series. The 3 series has grown in size and comparing it to the 5 i dont see a huge difference in size.
Of course the 3 is cheaper so that would be a reason to wait but if i can get a good deal on a 5 i might just go for that model , 520D more specifically.
I do like the more aggressive look of 3 series though :)

This looks like a really soft facelift. Probably the softest 3er facelift since the E36. Exterior wise only the lights graphics have changed. That and a slight modification of the front bumper.

Its still the current car in the Konfigurator but they are ready for the changeover within the web site.
But we can talk about the base entry 3er in these pics because this is what you get when you buy at the bottom rung of the ladder.

Yes it is a soft and subtle facelift. There is nothing visually to change. It still looks fresh and modern.

I think its a good thing they do not change the design to much, i really like the design as is. The more important changes are already made (if the rumors are true), like a new engine. I do however wish they could either integrate the screen in the dashboard or make it as Audi so that it can go into the dashboard and be taken out when needed. I dont like it sitting on the dashboard the way it goes. The 5 series look so much better i think.
